Barchester's Charitable Foundation announces list of Trustees
Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity which helps older people and adults living with disabilities, has announced the names of four new trustees, including Ann Mackay MBE, Director of Policy at Care England.
Ann Mackay started as a new independent trustee on 1st January 2015, and the three new Barchester-nominated trustees started on 1st July.
The three Barchester-nominated trustees are Caroline Baker, Director of Dementia Care, Kate Mansfield-Loynes, Head of Clinical Learning and Development, and Malcolm McDonald, Maintenance Manager at White Lodge Care Home.
The Foundation supports older people and other adults with a disability by giving grants of up to £5,000 to help promote personal independence, dignity and quality of life.
Each trustee has demonstrated throughout their career that they share the values of the Foundation and they have committed to helping guide the Foundation forward so that even more individuals across the country can receive support when they most need it.
Ann Mackay said: “The Foundation does such valuable work and makes a real difference to people by helping them to be independent and to have more involvement with their local communities. I am delighted to be able to play a part in supporting the Foundation to continue this important role.”
Malcolm McDonald, who is now one of the Foundation’s Trustees, has been a champion of the Foundation since 2010: “I am a huge fan of the Foundation and believe in the benefits that it offers to local communities and individuals. During my fundraising events I have become community engaged and driven events such as charity balls, cycle challenges, canoeing events and fishing competitions. These events have not only raised monies for the Foundation but have been great fun.”
