Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Jane Ritchie

Head of Activities

Hello, my name is Jane and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Lodge and I have been here since 2010 .

My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.

Arts & Crafts

On 13th January, we were joined by Gratitude 43, who showed our residents how to decorate picture frames, which they got to do themselves and keep the end results to put up in their rooms. The residents really enjoyed painting and brushing their chosen pictures onto frames.

Magic Table Games

On  Tuesday 21st, January, residents enjoyed playing football on the Magic Table. Each time a resident scored, they shouted 'hooray'!

Christmas Day

Residents had a lovely surprise on Christmas Day: Santa came to give out presents, and the Mayor joined too!

Christmas Shopping

Residents enjoyed a Christmas trip out to Dobbie's for a bit of shopping to see all the Christmas decorations.

Halloween Celebrations

Residents enjoyed a Halloween party. There was lots of fun dancing, and staff dressed up too. The kitchen team even prepared some themed refreshments for everyone.

Remembrance Day

Leading to remembrance day residents took part in making an airplane. Residents cut out a card board plane then they cut pictures of plans from a book and stuck them on the cut out. We also made poppies from crept paper and stuck them together. Everyone enjoyed the day and remembered the fallen.
