Activities at Farley Gardens Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Gentleman's Modelling Club!
We were very impressed with the recent efforts our gentleman’s modelling club creating a fleet of aircraft models! ✈️✨
A big thank you to Tony from maintenance and Arjun from the care team for hosting and keeping the creativity flowing.
Can’t wait to see what our gents create next. Great work chaps! 👏🏻

What a pawsitively wonderful afternoon at our very first Bark & Brew doggy café yesterday! 🐾☕️
A huge thank you to the fabulous owners - and of course our star pups Honey, Dora, Polly, Monty, Fred & Joey - for bringing their waggy charm to Farley Gardens.
Between the puppycinos, doggy “masterpieces,” and delicious homemade biscuits baked by our talented residents, the day was nothing short of fur-tastic! 🎨🍪🐶
We were thrilled to be joined by the lovely ladies from Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre, who we are proud to support through our fundraising. Although our dog café is free, donations are always warmly welcomed. 💛
We can’t wait to make this a monthly event… because good times are always better when they’re shared with furry friends! 🐕💕

🐇🐾 Pet Therapy Visit 🐾🐇
We were so happy to welcome Browells Wood Pet Therapy back to Farley Gardens this week. Our residents and team were guessing what lovely animals they would be bringing for this visit!
These calm and gentle animals offered comfort and companionship - the afternoon was full of smiles!
Pet therapy continues to play an important role in supporting emotional wellbeing, reminiscence and reducing stress. A big thank you again to Browells Wood Pet Therapy and Mack Entertainment. 💜

A very cuddly Pet Therapy visit from Browells
There were lots of happy faces at Farley Gardens this morning as we welcomed the wonderful team and animals from Browells Wood Pet Therapy! 🐾
Our residents, families and guests loved spending time with these gentle animals and there were plenty of cuddles, laughter, and joyful moments made. Bora the dog and Barbara the guinea pig certainly stole the show for our residents!
There really is something so special about the companionship of a pet and we cant wait for the next visit. A big thank you again to Browells Wood Pet Therapy and Mack Entertainment. 💜

A Special Trip Out To South Hill Park
Our residents at Farley Gardens enjoyed a trip out to South Hill Park on a lovely sunny afternoon this week.
One of our residents had requested a trip here so she could show her new friends around one of her favourite places - it was our pleasure to organise! 💜
It was lovely to get some fresh air in the autumn sunshine, and share stories with each other, whilst exploring the beautiful grounds. We certainly will be back to see more of the park soon.

🎄❄️ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 🎄❄️
Our Christmas elves have been busy adding the festive touches to our home… The elves certainly earned themselves a glass of Prosecco and slice of Pantone afterwards! 🥂

Christmas come early!
Christmas came early today as we woke up to surprise snowfall which got us well & truly in the festive spirit! We couldn’t resist having a little dance in the snow, catching snowflakes & singing!

🌸✨ Crafting Magic at Farley Gardens! ✨🌸
Our residents had a wonderful time this week getting creative with Andrea during our Decoupage Arts & Crafts session! 🎨🖌️
For those who haven’t tried it before, decoupage is the art of decorating objects by gluing on layers of beautifully cut paper... think flowers, patterns and all sorts of designs ....and sealing them with varnish to create a smooth, painted-on look. The word decoupage actually comes from the French word “découper,” meaning “to cut out.” ✂️
Everyone’s creativity truly shone through, and the finished pieces were very impressive.
Fun fact: Decoupage has been popular since the 17th century and was once used to decorate furniture for European royalty 👑 - so our residents have been crafting like kings and queens!
💖 A huge thank-you to Andrea for guiding such a joyful, hands-on session. We can’t wait for the next creative adventure at Farley Gardens!

Farley Gardens Care Home Supports Breast Cancer Awareness with Bra Bank Initiative
At Farley Gardens, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to make a difference - both within our home and in our wider community. This October, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we were proud to launch our very own Bra Bank initiative.
A Pink-Themed Celebration
To kick off the campaign, we hosted a fun and colourful pink-themed event here at the home. Residents, team members and visitors all joined in by wearing pink, enjoying delicious themed treats - including our Regional Chef Szymon’s famous profiteroles - and taking part in our hamper competition which runs until 31st October.
The day was filled with laughter, connection and community spirit as we welcomed local supporters dropping off their first bra donations.
Making a Difference Together
By donating unwanted or ill-fitting bras, our community is helping to support Against Breast Cancer, a charity that receives £700 for every tonne of bras collected. The initiative not only raises vital funds for breast cancer research but also promotes sustainable recycling, with all donated bras either reused or responsibly recycled, helping to reduce textile waste and create jobs in the UK.
A Message from Our Team
“We are thrilled to launch our Bra Bank at Farley Gardens,” said Simona Cioinac, Senior General Manager. “This initiative is a wonderful way for our residents, staff, and local community to come together and make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer, while also supporting sustainability.”
Get Involved
Our Bra Bank will remain a permanent fixture at Farley Gardens, so anyone from the community is welcome to pop in at any time to make a donation. Every bra counts, and together, we’re helping turn small acts of kindness into lasting impact.

A Delightful Afternoon of Dance
This weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming the talented students from the Lynnette Stephenson Academy of Dance to Farley Gardens!
The dancers performed a beautiful selection of pieces including ballet, modern, and acrobatic arts. - they lit up the room with their energy and grace.
Our residents had a wonderful time watching the dance display and reminiscing about their own dancing days and childhood ballet lessons. It certainly was a heartwarming visit for all! 💜
A huge thank you to the students and team at Lynnette Stephenson Academy of Dance for sharing their time and talents with us.

💜🤠 Tapathon 2025... Yee-haw!🤠💜
One of our lovely residents had a fantastic time watching the talented dancers from Lynnette Stephenson Academy of Dance take part in Tapathon – a nationwide tap dancing event for Children In Need and part of an attempt to achieve a world record too! 🏅
The song choice of Nutbush City Limits and cowboy hats were a great hit! We absolutely loved seeing everyone coming together for such a joyful occasion. The event brought back special memories of dancing days and an afternoon filled with lots of smiles!
Fingers crossed the record has been broken... we can't wait to find out! 🤞

Music & Laughter - in equal measures!
What an afternoon to remember! Our home was recently filled with the incredible voice of local talent Natasha King, who filled the room with beautiful melodies and irresistible energy.
But the magic didn’t stop there, as one of our very own residents stepped into the spotlight, joining Natasha on centre stage with his famous dance moves! The audience was in stitches - cheering, clapping, and joining in as the room echoed with both music and belly laughs.
And after all that excitement, we certainly felt we’d earned ourselves a well-deserved brew!

🚒 A Visit to Remember! 🚒
What an exciting afternoon here at Farley Gardens! We were thrilled to welcome our local heroes from Blue Watch at Bracknell Fire Station for a very special visit. The lovely gents rolled up in their impressive fire engine….. and even let our General Manager, Simona, hop behind the wheel! 🚒👏
Over a delicious afternoon tea, we shared stories, laughter, and a few fire safety tips too. Our residents loved showing the crew around our beautiful home and hearing all about life on the front line.
A huge thank you to the Blue Watch team for being so generous with your time and for bringing so many smiles to our faces. You made our day truly unforgettable! ❤️

Welcome to Haversham Way!
We were thrilled to welcome local historian Andrew from The Bracknell Forest Society to Farley Gardens! Andrew recently helped us name the heart of our home – Haversham Way – and it was a real pleasure to have him visit in person.
Did you know Haversham refers to Sir Arthur Divett Hayter, who became Baron Haversham in 1906 while living at South Hill Park? Today, this historic estate is a much-loved local landmark, home to an arts centre, beautiful parkland, and a scenic nature trail.
Given its rich local ties and community spirit, we felt Haversham Way was the perfect name for the heart of our home. 💛
A copy of Andrew's fascinating book on local history now proudly on display in our Bluebell Café – be sure to take a look during your next visit! 📖
We’re excited to announce that Andrew will be returning soon to give a talk for residents and friends of Farley Gardens – stay tuned for more details!

Striking fun and spare-ing no laughter at today’s bowling outing!
Some of our residents at Farley Gardens enjoyed a trip out in the minibus this week for an afternoon of bowling. There were many spares, a few strikes and a whole lot of competitive spirit!
