Activities at Farley Gardens Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Activities Lead
Hello, my name is Mareesa.
I am a dedicated Activities Lead with experience working in care as a Senior, which gives me a strong understanding of residents individual needs and wellbeing. I find great joy in creating meaningful moments that bring happiness, comfort and a sense of belonging. Combining my care experience with activities allows me to support residents holistically, ensuring they feel valued, safe and truly cared for.
Celebrating life at Farley Gardens Care Home

Tiny Paws, Big Smiles!
Maggie enjoyed some lovely cuddles with Milo & Loki - puppies belonging to Activity Lead, Mareesa.
Mareesa decided to surprise residents by bringing in her 6 week old miniature dachshunds for the day.

Spring has sprung!
We made the most of the gorgeous blue skies and visited our local favourite hotspot, South Hill Park! Residents loved spotting the signs of Spring including listening to the stunning water features, hearing birdsong, and spotting squirrels and ducks along the route! Finished off of course with a few tasty treats in the cafe. It's so lovely to be back.

Our inspiring community outing to Eco Skills Centre!
Our residents had a tree-mendous visit to the Eco Skills Learning Centre for a hands-on bird box making session with their wonderful and knowledgeable volunteer team.
We’re always super mindful about caring for our environment, so learning these eco-friendly skills was really important to us - and lots of fun too!
We were also delighted to be joined by local MP Clive Jones, who our residents loved meeting and chatting with.
Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and such a memorable day!

Moveball at Farley Gardens!
What a fantastic session we had with Mark from Moveball! Residents were fully engaged, smiling and cheering each other on throughout an activity-packed session focused on building confidence, improving dexterity, encouraging friendly competition, and working on balance.
It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved at their own pace, supporting each other.
Great job gang and thank you Mark!

Hosting our 2nd Community Sunday Roast event!
We were ecstatic to host our latest 'Toast & Roast' - a community event designed to celebrate Sundays with our local community - by hosting them for a complimentary Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, followed by live music.
It was a full house and everyone stayed to enjoy a special live set from local talent, Jimmy, afterwards which even included a few Scottish songs in honour of Burns Night! Jimmy was happy to take requests throughout his set and finished with the room's universal request for Frank Sinatra's "My Way".
A fabulous Sunday filled with food, friendship and Frank!

Stocking up on flowers for our garden!
Our residents were very happy to share their green-fingered garden knowledge during a recent trip to the garden centre, as we stocked up on beautiful florals ready for our garden and potting shed.
We are all so excited for Spring and to add our own touch on our lovely garden!

Pop to the Shops!
We recently popped onto the minibus and headed to our local "big M&S" in Sandhurst, which is always a fabulous day out for some retail therapy with friends!

Music To Our Ears!
You can't beat a morning of class, conversation and a little crooning.
Daniel Brewerton treated our home to another wonderful live performance "Live from New York" filled with timeless tunes to get us toe-tapping and singing along to our favourites!

Manifesting some sunshine during our weekly flower arranging!
Undeterred by the recent rainfall, our residents got busy creating some wonderfully elegant floral displays for their bedrooms and around the home. This week, we opted for a whimsical wild flower theme to remind us of sunnier days as we shared memories of our favourite Spring times past.

Every bracelet tells its own story!
We recently hosted our own creative friendship making activity and were delighted with our colourful creations to cherish and gift to our loved ones!

Birthday Celebrations!
We recently celebrated the birthday of our wonderful resident, Jennifer, complete with a home-made cake of her choice and gift from the Farley Gardens Family.
We hope you had a lovely day celebrating!

And they call it Puppy Love: February's Bark & Brew!
Our latest community dog café welcomed an impressive TWELVE dogs to Farley Gardens to meet our residents for an afternoon of fun!
Resident, Gill, was on hand to masterfully make the puppycinos while we enjoyed a tricky quiz for dog lovers! We had an impressive tie breaker where 4 dogs competed with their best trick, resulting in Jack taking home his winning dog toy! Well done Jack and thank you to all those who joined us, as we build this wonderful community of dog lovers!

Spa Afternoons
We decided that after all this wet weather recently, our residents deserved to feel their best. So we got to work in hosting a calming spa afternoon, complete with foot packs, face masks - and not to mention, a glass or two of fizz!

A Morning of Ballroom Dancing with Simon!
Residents enjoyed a morning of classic show tunes and ballroom dancing with pro-dancer, Simon. A nostalgic session of all our favourite tunes from back in the day, with plenty of toe-tapping, singing along and doing the twist!

National Pizza Week!
We rose to the occasion for National Pizza Week when Residents became master pizza-olas, choosing their own toppings while the dough flew through the air!
Huge thanks to our amazing kitchen team for hosting this activity and a slice of applause for Head Chef Peter!
