"My mum is in this home and it is outstanding. The staff are amazing and it's like having an extended family. It is such a relief for me, as her daughter, that I do not have to worry about my mum as I know she is loved and well cared for at the home. My mum has Alzheimer's and is always treated with care and respect, even though she can't really communicate now. I am truly grateful that my mum is in such a wonderful care home."

"My husband passed away in Barchester Briardene Care Home. He had lived there for three and a half years. From the first day he moved in until the day he passed away, he was loved and cared for amazingly under excellent management and her team were magnificent. They cared for us, as a family. In my husband's final days, each and every member of the team looked after us. I can't thank each and every one of you enough. The manager is an amazing lady, well done for choosing such excellent staff."

"My dad has been here a few years now and the care he gets remains excellent, after having him in a home that was not well-equipped to suit his needs. He is a handful and they take it all in their stride. Love visiting even when he’s not happy we all get through it together, a nice family environment. The food is delicious you can have a meal too with your loved one."

"My wife was a resident at Briardene for the past 7 years until she passed away in January 2024. Throughout this period she was shown the utmost care and devotion to her needs from what I would consider to be the most professional staff I have ever encountered in any setting. My background as a Social Worker gives me a particular insight across a wide range of settings by which to compare. The staff were always kind and considerate to our family members and went that extra mile when we were faced with the loss of my wife. The whole family recognized the quality of the work done by the dedicated staff and will be forever grateful to every one of them for this."

"Briardene Care Home is an exceptional place where the staff and managers clearly support the residents, each other and visitors with the utmost dignity and respect. This extends to the back-office staff and all who work there. This is a genuinely caring community of people, who seem to love what they do and put the residents first in all circumstances and this is based on many visits, phone calls, meetings and gatherings. The care is exemplary, the surroundings are clean and welcoming, and I've heard more than one member of staff say "it's a privilege to care for the residents". They take the time to know each person and work with humour, dignity and kindness - it gives my family and me such peace of mind. Thank you so much."

"I can't thank every member of the team as well as the excellent management on how they have looked after my husband from his 1st day home till now on his end of life. Excellent facility and the love, care and utmost dignity with my husband. They are friends to him. I am so glad that he has come back home to Briardene to end his days. I am sure he will miss them like they will miss him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone."

"First of all, Happy New Year to everyone at Barchester Briardene. Thank you all for going above and beyond at Christmas. Had Xmas dinner with our loved one, and even had a table for two set for my daughter and myself, wonderful. Lovely Christmas lunch. As we go into the New Year, myself and my family would like to express our thanks and gratitude to every one of you, for your excellent continuing care of our loved one, nothing is too much trouble. Briardene is a home from home, so friendly and caring, like one big family. I would 100% recommend this home. Once again, big, big thank you to you all."

"My husband has been a resident at Briardene for only a very short time but I am already impressed with, and reassured by, the care, patience and understanding the manager and her entire team are showing him and his family members. Our daughter and her two young children, who do not live in the northeast, had not seen him for three months and I was concerned that visiting him in Briardene at such an early stage could be upsetting for all. I need not have worried. Staff enabled us all to be together in a small, cosy lounge, an ideal setting, and provided much-appreciated refreshments. My husband has a rare dementia and his journey will undoubtedly continue to be challenging but I feel confident that all the staff will support him and us along the way."

"My husband has settled in lovely. Finally, we have found a home right for him and his needs after struggling to settle in a previous care home. All staff at the home show kindness, care and compassion in abundance. The home is very clean and very comfortable and the staff know their residents and their needs very well. My husband is very happy which gives me peace of mind. Nothing is too much trouble for the residents and families. Thank you very much for everything you're doing it is wonderful."

"My father was transferred to Briardene Care Home from another care home in December 2022. I can't believe the difference in cleanliness. The attitude of the staff and the top-quality care given to my father. I can't thank everyone at Briardene enough for the difference you have made. "Absolute brilliant place, my mother has been in several care homes now and this is by far the best one. The staff cannot do enough for her (or me), I live far away so they keep me regularly updated on her health and well-being. They care so much and although she doesn’t know it makes me feel a whole lot better!"

"My husband has been in the care home for over a year and the facilities are superb. There is always something happening to keep the residents stimulated. The residents are all so well looked after and my husband is really settled. The main people, all of the staff are amazing, they treat my husband with such compassion and respect and always a smile on their faces. I can't thank them enough. I miss my husband so much but have peace of mind knowing he is somewhere safe, loved and cared for. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

"Briardene: Part of my life for 11 years, rated as outstanding because it's true. The staff are trained to give the highest standard of professional care but gradually develop empathy, understanding and that vocation that surpasses the words work or job, true. A resident's personal care, room and physical and emotional well-being are supported by a team of cheerful people who take pride in their contribution to making life as comfortable, involved and active as possible, true. Individual needs are monitored, discussed and catered for. Staff designated to individuals to ensure information and records are updated correctly and available, true. Communication with families is prompt, inclusive and reassuring because of all of this the quality of life has improved and extended, they go the extra mile. My journey with the staff of Briardene has now ended, at the beginning I was anxious until I trusted them, gradually a great weight lifted from me and I could see a way forward. We were both 'looked after' by Briardene, all true."

"My husband has lived in this care home for over two years now and his care has been excellent. He was taken to hospital in March and I was told he was on end-of-life care. He went back to Briardene and was put on palliative care and nine weeks later he is still there. I cannot praise the staff enough. Every one of them is so caring, friendly and happy in their work. My husband's room is always clean and his food is adapted to his needs. Fantastic care home."

"My dad got moved to this care home in December, and he has never looked better and so well for a long time. The staff and management are amazing and cater for all my dad's needs and well-being. Each member of staff knows my dad on a personal level. "The care for my mother has been as good as you could ever ask for. Staff are incredibly patient, supportive, understanding, and friendly. I live a long way from the home and staff are always willing to give me updates and have a friendly chat every time I call. I have only been inside the facility once due to COVID but it is a great environment and able to manage a variety of complex needs."

"My husband has been here for nine months and we have both found the staff to be friendly, caring and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They care for my husband with kindness, patience and friendliness, they also seem to care about me too. His room is always clean and tidy. He is happy with the meals and if he is then so am I. He sometimes tells me he is bored but he has always been an active man and gets frustrated with the reduced activities he has. Overall excellent care."

"My husband has been in the care home for 18 months, and from him going in, we have both been treated very well. Management and staff have gone out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. Briardene is always clean and tidy, and the food cooked on the premises is excellent. I am kept informed regularly about my husband and his needs, doctor visits, medication and reviews. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone whose loved one needs care."

"The care provided to my mum at Briardene is truly exceptional! This is no exaggeration, as my mum was at 2 other care homes before she resided at Briardene and there really is no comparison. Every single person working there treats my mum with the love and care as if they were her own family. This level of care and support is also given to extended family and friends that visit my mum. It really is like ‘home from home’. I often say that I feel like I won the lottery when my mum was homed at Briardene, knowing that a loved one with Alzheimer’s is safe and well cared for is priceless!"

"My experience with this care home has been excellent. From the cleaners, and laundry care staff, to admin and managers. They are all so welcoming. It is a beautiful home, with always lots going on for the residents. My sister couldn't be in a better place. I am so happy she is in this care home because when she is happy, I am."

"Over the past 18 months, my opinion of Briardene has not changed, if anything, it has only been enhanced. The excellent management and their team of staff prioritise the well-being, comfort and contentment of the residents above anything else. The presentation and cleanliness of the home are of a high standard. Delicious homemade food is provided throughout the day. There are plenty of activities and events to stimulate and entertain, inclusive to families. My husband settled in well from day one and knowing he is being well cared for gives me and our family peace of mind, which is priceless."
