Activites at Bayleaf Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Celebrating life at Bayleaf Care Home

Grand Opening
Bayleaf, Barchester Healthcare’s new luxury care home in Huntingdon, has opened its doors in style, with a Grand Opening performed by Lady De Ramsey, Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridge, in front of invited guests from the local community. We are now open for Residents, the event was filled with laughter and warmth as we prepared to officially open our doors. General Manager, Katie Wilkinson, commented: “We are delighted our home is now open, our residents are at the heart of everything we do at Bayleaf, and we look forward to welcoming them and their families, and becoming an active part of the local community.
Charity Car Wash
Staff at Bayleaf Care Home in Huntingdon put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ with a Charity Car Wash to raise money for The Coneygear Centre
Katie our General Manager said: “We love to fundraise for charities throughout the year, we pick different causes to support that have been selected by staff, residents and friends of the home. The Coneygear Centre is a great cause that helps many people in need and will be put towards their summer event. It is also a cause very close to the hearts of all our staff and residents, so we feel really proud to have been able to raise this money. Thank you to everyone who donated!”

Open Weekend
Team Bayleaf have finally opened the doors! we have hosted our first open weekend this weekend, it has been truly inspiring welcoming our community and prospective future residents. We was joined by two amazing local artists who came to have a sing and a dance with us on Saturday. Sunday we was joined by Michelle and her therapy petting zoo. Families have had a great opportunity to have a look around our beautiful new home and have some fun along the may. This is just the beginning! Keep an eye on our events page for new and exciting events happening throughout May
Team Bayleaf Volunteering in the Community
This week we have joined forces with Diamond Hampers CIC, they are a fantastic organisation helping to support the local community. Our team have volunteered alongside them to help turn a vision into reality! transforming their community allotment to be able to grow fresh produce for the community. Watch this space we cannot wait to see the finished results.
Bayleaf team meet the Mayor and Mayoress
Katie Wilkinson, General Manager, and Nadine Willerton, Home Services Advisor were invited to the Mayor’s Parlour to meet the Mayor and Mayoress of Huntingdon, Karl and Julie Brockett.
Nadine and Katie had the pleasure of meeting the Mayor and Mayoress at the Town Hall and were given a guided tour, which included the historic courtrooms and fascinating insights into the town’s history. The Mayor, who also runs the community volunteer group, Huntingdon’s Nostalgia, has fantastic local knowledge making him the perfect host for a history tour.
During the meeting, the Bayleaf team were delighted to share some of the community focused events they are planning to host, including a community gardening club, wellness walks, group talks on matters of importance to the community such as how to avoid scams and wider gatherings. The team also shared their commitment to local charities and how they are looking forward to working together to support the Mayor’s chosen charities in the future. The care home team extended an invitation to the Mayor and Mayoress to visit Bayleaf when the home opens in the summer. Mayor Karl Brockett expressed his gratitude for Bayleaf’s commitment to working in and for the local community.
