Care stars reach Great British Care Awards finals

Ionela and Renata

Staff and residents at Park View Care Home in Dagenham are proud and delighted that twomembers of staff reached the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2015 and were invited to attend an awards ceremony on 24th April.

The two finalists from Park View were Ionela Jalba (Best New Carer category) and Renata Kindereviciene (Great Nurse category). Both women had also been finalists in the Great London Care Awards in November 2014 and Renata was the winner of the ‘Good Nurse’ category in these regional heats.

A series of regional events are held and the most outstanding nominees then progress to the national event. The awards have received support from across the sector, including the Department of Health, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), Care England and the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE).

The awards ceremony for the national finals was held at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham. Renata and Ionela attended the event alongside Park View’s General Manager Penny Hammond, Regional Director Anthony Beorby and Barchester’s CEO Pete Calveley, who came to show their support.

Penny Hammond,General Manager at Park View Care Home said: “We are so proud to have not one but two members of staff recognised at this stage of the Great British Care Awards.
