Barchester Healthcare's Newest Care Home in Solihull Reaches Topping Out Stage

Barchester’s latest care home development in Solihull celebrated a major milestone with a recent topping out ceremony. The occasion marked the completion of the latest stage of the 80-bed care home, as it enters the final 6 months of construction.

The new home, officially named Fountains Care Home, has been built by Seddon, and is owned and operated by Barchester Healthcare. The home will provide residential and dementia care for older people in the community of Shirley, and is set to open its doors to residents for the first time in January 2020.

The home is located on Stratford Road, not far from Solihull Retail Park. When it opens, the home will feature private dining facilities, a choice of lounges, spa bathrooms, a life-skills kitchen, a large terrace, an in-house hair salon, a café, and en-suite bedrooms. A daily life enrichment programme with an array of tailored activities, a concierge service, and nutritious seasonal meals will also be provided services at the home.
Ed Wootton, regional director at Seddon, commented: “We are delighted to have reached such a significant stage in the build process. It was a pleasure to share the occasion with our project partners Barchester Healthcare. We look forward to handing over the marketing suite in the next few months, which will allow finished aspects of the care home to be showcased.”

Mark Bennett, the Director of Property Services at Barchester said, “The home is really coming together. The design of the home will not only allow our operational colleagues to provide the best level of care for the residents who live there, but also ensure the residents are able to live dignified lives in surroundings that allow them to be as independent as they choose to be.”

Fountains Care Home in Solihull will open in January 2020 and will deliver personalised residential care as well as personalised dementia care in Barchester’s unique Memory Lane Community.
