Badgeworth House Care Home Celebrates 'Outstanding' CQC Rating
Badgeworth House Care Home in Badgeworth, Cheltenham passed a recent Care Quality Commission inspection with an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating - the best possible rating - after being praised for operating a safe, responsive, caring, effective and well-led service.
The CQC inspected the home on April 27th and 28th 2022 and rated the home, run by Barchester Healthcare, as ‘Good’ in three areas of the inspection – safe, caring and effective and ‘Outstanding’ in the two final categories of responsive and well-led, giving the home an ‘Outstanding’ overall rating. The report stated that residents at the home received high quality personalised care that met their needs and improved their wellbeing from a well-trained, well-supported, highly motivated and stable staff team who were kind, caring and very proud of their home.
Also highlighted in the report was that people were very happy with the care they received, felt safe and well looked after, were relaxed with staff and were treated with kindness and respect. The report stated that relatives and staff were actively involved in the care of their loved ones and in adjusting their individual care plans to suit their changing needs. The report said there was a good feeling around the home, there was care, kindness and a happy staff team that were excited to have an inspection so they could show off their home and all their achievements.
The report found that staff loved working at the home, one staff member said: “We are like a little family here.” A relative commented: “The staff are wonderful, they are all dears – they love the residents, they spoil them and go the extra mile for them.” Another relative added: “The staff are amazing, they pre-empt all of my loved one’s needs. The care is excellent.”
