Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

Professional Lunch
We were delighted to invite local professionals to our Professionals Lunch Event.
Taking place on Tuesday 30th July, professionals from various care organisations within the community including the Alzheimer’s Society were given the opportunity to meet and network over Lunch provided by the home. Guests also had the chance to take a tour of the home, and ask any questions they might have about care.
Rachael Longley, Deputy General Manager at our home says: “Stamford Bridge is keen to part of the community and our Professional lunch allowed individuals from the care industry to meet and connect with one another."

Homes come together for 'Big Quiz'
Barchester care homes and hospitals nationwide linked together for a fantastic quiz in celebration of Barchester’s 100th live virtual event.
Residents engaged in a variety of questions ranging from historical trivia to visual puzzles and brainteasers.
Everyone who joined had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.

Tiki Bar Fun in The Sun
Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home was transformed into a tropical oasis for an afternoon.
Residents, adorned with leis and hats, enjoyed fruity drinks at the makeshift tiki bar.
The excitement reached a peak when singer Martin Reeves arrived. His performance was a hit, with residents singing along to classics like "Sweet Caroline" and "Living Doll." Laughter and reminiscing filled the room as everyone swayed to the music, creating a truly fantastic atmosphere enjoyed by all.

35 Year Long Service Award
Louise Potter, Operational Trainer, is celebrating 35 years long service at Barchester!
Louise started her journey with Barchester in July 1999 as a Care Assistant at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home, then became a Senior Care Assistant and Home Trainer, and now works as an Operational Trainer. A surprise party was held for her in July to celebrate her hard work!
Adele Keenan, Employee Services Director at Barchester said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Louise has achieved this milestone. It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”

Trip to Elvington Air Museum
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip out at the Elvington Air museum.
The exhibits promoted many conversations throughout the day, the gentlemen were particularly impressed that they could get so close to the aeroplanes.
Our day out at the Elvington Museum was rounded off nicely with a rather tasty lunch in the cafe as our residents tucked into the delicious fish and chips on offer.

Hawaiian Party
We've had the most fabulous afternoon in the sun for our Hawaiian themed BBQ.
With grass skirts blowing in the breeze, flower garlands fluttering, the parrot and flamingo flying and palm trees gently swaying...and occasionally falling over made for an amazing experience for everybody who came.
The home activities team would like to pass on special thanks to Nick from the maintenance team for constructing the centre piece tiki bar, it looked absolutely amazing, Amy and the catering team for all their help with preparing the food, the care teams who without your help and support events like this could not happen. Thanks also go to all the family members who came to support their loved ones.
