Meet the team
Our trained team of professionals work together to create the best possible experience for those living in the home, striving to deliver excellent care services in a warm, homely environment. You can find out more about some of our wonderful staff members below:
Hi, I'm Amanda, the Senior General Manager here at Newington Court, and I would like to welcome you to our home.
I have worked in the healthcare sector since 1998. I qualified at Luton University and worked at the NHS, specialising in surgical, rehab and end of life care. I have a degree in Critical Care Nursing and I am an experienced orthopaedic nurse. I have also spent time working in the private sector at a charitable hospital for the clergy in London and nursed for five years in Guernsey. I was promoted to General Manager at Newington Court in July 2016.
My name is Claire and I am the Unit Leader here at Falcon Place. I have worked in the healthcare sector since 2004, and have achieved an NVQ2/3. I manage the 8 bedroom unit with the support of my manager and a dedicated team. We are a small friendly unit, family-orientated, and we all work with great enthusiasm and passion. I am working towards my next level to become a senior healthcare practitioner this year.
Lyn joined us here at Newington 6 months ago. She is a very bubbly, active person who really gets involved with the residents. Lyn regularly organises trips where she takes residents out in the minibus, as well as smaller activities within Newington Court, Falcon Place and the wider community. She is always happy and it's great to see how the residents respond to Lyn's energy. She is always coming up with new ideas for the residents to enhance their stay with us at Newington. Outside of work Lyn spends most of her time with her lovely Grandchildren and pets.
Julie joined us in 2008 and keeps the home up to a fantastic standard. She manages a great team, where all of them have the motto "Nothing is too much trouble for the Residents!". Julie's daugheter Kelly also works with us here at Newington Court as a carer.
Nick joined Barchester is 2008, he enjoys whistling and singing whilst doing his work around the home and it's grounds. Nick plays the guitar and keeps everyone up to date with the Fire Training and Drills at Falcon Place.
