Great care home, very clean and homely. Met the head housekeeper Nicky who was really welcoming and helpful.

Came here to do repair work on the electrics. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Plenty of offering with teas and coffee. An amazing place.

Came to visit a dear relative of mine and was vastly impressed! The home was lovely and clean. The staff were devoted, inviting and extremely friendly. My uncle is really, really happy there and I can't recommend this care home enough!

I had the pleasure of delivering a health and wellbeing talk and interactive session at Mill Court Care Home earlier this year.

The team were incredibly welcoming, and it was clear to see the level of care, professionalism and kindness shown to residents and their families. The atmosphere in the home felt warm and supportive, and the staff were very engaged in conversations about wellbeing and quality of life.

It was wonderful to see such interest in health, vitality and lifestyle topics, and to meet residents and relatives who were keen to take part in the discussion.

I had the pleasure of visiting sycamore grove,Eastbourne on behalf of a family member. Staff were polite and there was lots going on activity wise for the residence. Definitely one of the best in the Eastbourne area

The care home has a real sense of positivity , the greeting I had was very warm and inviting. Jenna was excellent and there is a clear commitment from all staff to deliver a high standard of service. It stands in contrast to many common perceptions about care settings, offering instead a much more genuine homely feel.

I have been visiting my Aunt for the past few months and have always found the staff very warm and welcoming. The home itself is spotlessly clean and the cakes in the cafe area are delicious. I recommend Winchester House to everyone!

My father is in Wykeham House and the care he receives is excellent. The home is warm and welcoming as are the rooms. However it is the staff that make a difference. All are caring and friendly with a 'can do' attitude, they are the best!!!

This care home is expertly run by a great team of carers, nurses, housekeeper, Chef's & Maintenance team, all expertly managed by a lovely friendly & professional General Manager Sharon.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I could feel that this wasn’t just a care home — it was a true community.

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and filled with genuine kindness. Every member of staff greets residents (and visitors!) by name, and it’s clear that relationships here go far beyond routine care. There’s laughter in the hallways, friendly chats over cups of tea, and a real sense that everyone belongs.

What struck me most during my visits is how at home the residents seem. Doors are open, people are engaged in activities together, and there’s a lovely balance of independence and support. Whether it’s a group activity in the lounge, a quiet moment in the garden, or staff sitting down for a proper conversation rather than rushing past, everything feels thoughtful and unhurried.

The team’s compassion shines through in the small details — knowing how someone takes their tea, remembering family stories, celebrating birthdays like they would for their own relatives. It never feels clinical or institutional; it feels personal and heartfelt.

My children always love visiting here and they are welcomed by all staff and residents, it’s lovely to see how much they love coming to Henford.

As a visitor, I always leave feeling reassured and uplifted. There’s a deep sense of dignity, respect, and warmth that you simply can’t manufacture — it’s part of the culture here.
This is a place where people are truly cared for, valued, and included. It’s not just a care home, it’s a family.

I have attended Hickathrift House on numerous occasions to meet with Staff and residents to discuss their ear health. The staff are all very friendly, they go above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy. On one occasion a member of staff came in on her day off to be there with a resident whilst I cleaned her ears as she was so nervous. I have been in lots of homes and this is one of the nicest.

I've had the fortunate experience of not only meeting some of the team for an exploratory conversation about how to plan for the future of a relative, but also to engage with them as a healthcare professional as to how they can alleviate some of the pressures in the local healthcare system by supporting discharge planning from hospital settings.
