Cherry Trees Care Home

Welcome to the relaxed and happy lifestyle of Cherry Trees.

We provide first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with dementia in our Memory Lane Community. We also support younger people with a physical disability.

Our team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of our residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

And our dedication can be seen across the board - in our cooking, hospitality and organised activities for our residents.

We're situated on the outskirts of Stratford-Upon-Avon in the historic market town of Alcester.

We think you'll find we're ideally suited to meet your needs now and in the future.

Our Activities Co-ordinators are working with Help the Aged to plan fun and interesting activities for our residents.

Feel free to visit us, have a go on our Nintendo Wii or try our outdoor exercise equipment.

Cherry Tree residents are official 'tasters'

Some residents from Cherry Trees were invited to be official 'tasters' for the final of the National Chef competition at Becketts Cookery School in Wythall. Our residents, Hilary Davies and Elizabeth Hewitt enjoyed the whole experience. Celebrity Chef Paul Rankin met both ladies, along with Claire (Clinical Manager) and Liz (Activities Coordinator) and they were made very welcome. We were delighted that the dishes that "tickled the taste buds" of Hilary and Elizabeth mirrored those of the judging panel.

Butterfly Farm Visit

Three of our residents from Cherry Trees enjoyed an afternoon out at the Stratford Upon Avon Butterfly Farm on Friday 20th May. Tom Cane from our YPD Unit is a very keen amateur photographer and he took some amazing pictures of the butterflies, some of which you can see here. Everybody had a marvellous time and enjoyed afternoon tea and ice creams. The visit was given a very definite "thumbs up" so we will be arranging another visit very soon.

Spring Open Day

We had over a thousand bulbs donated by Rotary Club of Alcester and several stalls including one with delicious cakes supplied by Lakes Cakes in Alcester. Claire, our Clinical Manager, brought two young lambs in for the petting pen, Mike from Activities demonstrated making a 3d puzzle from scratch with his jig saw and Bernado, one of our care assistants wowed us all showing how to make various carvings from fruit and vegetables. A great time was had by all and the ice cream van was a welcome sight! Lots of volunteers came from the town to help out for the day.

Dignity in Action Day

Cherry Trees supported Dignity in Action Day with a fun and all-inclusive community event. The home celebrated and raised awareness of the importance of delivering dignified care by holding an extra special social day where they turned one of the dining rooms into an old fashioned café called "As You Like It", hosted by Liz Southall and Mike Drakeley from the Activities team who dressed up in old fashioned waiting uniforms, serving several types of specialist teas and coffees and a mouth-watering selection of cakes and biscuits prepared by our own Chefs.

Pancake Day

Our Assistant Chef Gail made yummy pancakes in preparation for the pancake races which were held on each unit. Our residents enjoyed pancakes with a choice of chocolate sauce, lemon and sugar or maple syrup. Lots of fun was had by all trying to toss pancakes while keeping a straight face!
