CATCH OF THE DAY AT WHITE LODGE LAKE
The fishing competition to win the Mondial Cup took place at White Lodge care home's lake and raised more than £7,000 for Barchester's independent Charitable Foundation. White Lodge's lake was awash with keen anglers representing Barchester Healthcare, Tedworth House and a variety of suppliers all got involved in the charity event. The money raised for Barchester's Charitable Foundation will be used to give grants that help older people and those with disabilities live their lives to the full. Malcolm McDonald, Maintenance Coordinator at White Lodge who organised the event, said: "It was a fantastic day. Our resident fisherman Geoff Hoskins presented the cup to Sergeant De'ath from The Tedworth House Hospital. I am ecstatic that we've raised so much for a worthy cause and the total is still climbing!"

Giant Scrabble
We took advantage of the beautiful weather this summer and played giant scrabble outside. This picture shows us getting started!

Laying the foundation for great care
Our maintenance manager has successfully won the 'Foundation Champion Award' at Barchester Healthcare's Care Awards 2011. Malcolm McDonald was selected from more than 600 entries from all over the UK. He was nominated for his hilarious Toolbox Calendar, which took inspiration from Calendar Girls and raised a smile as well as a lot of money for the Barchester Foundation. Malcolm was presented with a trophy at a glitzy awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham.
