Emily Jackson provides first-class 24-hour nursing and residential care. We also provide expert care for those with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community.

Our team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focus on the individual needs of our Residents, with a tailored, person centered, care plan for everyone. Our goal is to encourage every person we support to be all that they are able and to achieve their goals. Our staff are here to support this philosophy and provide the best care possible.

Our dedication can be seen across the board - in our cooking, hospitality, housekeeping and all our activities for our Residents. As we come to learn about a Resident's past, we can then formulate a care plan to support them going forward.

Our History

Emily Jackson was a young girl who came to Sevenoaks with her parents in 1867 and made friends with a young girl called Ellen, who later developed a hip disease. Ellen required constant care and Emily tended to her needs in small room until she passed away. However, other children, with the same condition, were also sent from London and so a small hospital was born. As the number of patients grew, funds were raised to purpose-build a new, much bigger, hospital. A plot of land was acquired near Eardley Road and Emily's brother set about designing the new building; which opened in 1902.

Emily

Emily was held in high regard and the writer of her obituary compared her to Saint Catherine of Genoa, saying that she did everything simply, naturally and from love. Despite her hard and busy life, her quick sympathy and bright humour endeared her to all. Barchester Healthcare now occupy the property and our team of qualified and dedicated staff really focus on the individual needs of residents as Emily once did.

Outings

We are committed to providing professional and respectful care and maintaining Barchester's exceptional standards, not just in relation to the care we provide, but also in our hospitality, housekeeping, maintenance, administration and activities. An example of our events includes: Themed Summer BBQ's, Tea on the Orient Express, Tea at The Ritz, Theatre productions, numerous trips in our mini bus and loads more!

Food

Our chefs also prepare a delightful three course meal every day together with tea and home-made cakes mid morning and afternoon. Celebratory cakes, such as birthdays, are also baked and relatives and friends are also welcome to book in for lunch or dinner. Everyone at Emily Jackson has the same aim in providing and supporting you with the best care and service that they can. Our philosophy is that Emily Jackson is our home rather than our workplace.
