Barchester in Bloom

Charlie Dimmock, celebrity gardener and one of the stars of 71 Degrees North, presented Highview House care home in Inverness with 'Best Sensory Garden' at the national Barchester in Bloom gardening awards at the stunning Birmingham Botanical Gardens. General Manager, Ola MacRae, Activities co-ordinator Ann Harris and Liz Bickley, Administrator attended the awards ceremony and were presented with a £400 cash prize to spend on their garden, along with the a trophy, by Ms Dimmock.

Ola Macrae - General Manager

Ola is responsible for ensuring that quality care is delivered by competent, caring staff and the quality of the facilities is maintained.

Norma Swatman - Deputy Manager

Deputises for the General Manager in her absence and supervises staff. Responsible for completing quality audits.

Kay Stewart - Receptionist

Kay answers the telephone, meets and greets everyone who comes to the Home and directs you to the person you are visiting.

Elizabeth Bickley - Administrator

Elizabeth deals with accounts and can answer questions regarding these.

Elma Stoddart - Chef


Elma produces varied, nutritious, well balanced meals using only fresh produce. Special diets are also catered for.

Mairi Moores - Domestic Supervisor


Mairi ensures our home is clean and tidy and that there is a plentiful supply of products to enable this.

James McDonald - Maintenance Officer


James ensures that repairs required are attended to quickly, he paints rooms to refresh them and assists residents to make their rooms homely.

Ann Harris and Nadine Rodgers - Activities


Ann and Nadine provide stimulating activities for our residents which are both creative and fun. Our minibus is used foroutings of choice.

Robert Russell - Gardener


Robert keeps the grounds neat and tidy and ensures there's an interesting and colourful welcome at the entrance to the home and in the many seating areas around the home.
