Activities at Iverley View Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Read our brochure ‘Life-enriching activities’ for more information about life in our care homes.

Molly-Jo Burrows
Activities Coordinator
Hi, I’m Molly,
I’m the Activities Co-ordinator here at Iverley View, bringing energy and creativity.
I've worked in the care industry for over 4 years, I'm so happy be part of the Barchester family.
My goal is make sure every day is engaging, fun and meaningful for our residents; whether that’s through activities, social events or simply sharing a good chit chat.
Outside of work, I'm passionate about travelling and exploring new places. I love spending time with my beautiful Labrador/pug (Pugador) 'Bella' she loves coming on new adventures with me!
I look forward to meeting you at Iverley View :)
Celebrating life at Iverley View Care Home

Decorating the Sensory Christmas Tree on Memory Lane
Christmas time gave us an opportunity to add a splash of Fun to Christmas tree decoration.
It was a great team effort by residents, staff, volunteers, families and Crafting for the community who all came together to make decorations for our first ever sensory tree in Iverley View.
Many people with dementia have some kind of sensory impairment, such as sight loss, hearing loss, or both. Tactile fabrics and memory evoking smells can create opportunities for positive experiences and memories.
By making the decorations from fabrics, wool and clay our residents practised skills they have used in their past, enjoyed team work engaging with others, and sense of achievement to hang their decorations on the tree together.
We love sharing moments like this with our residents.

Remembrance Celebrations
Our Remembrance Celebration was filled with heartfelt moments, touching songs, and cherished memories of those we hold dear.
A huge thank you to Maggie for her soulful performance and to everyone who joined us in honouring our loved ones. We let the beautiful voice of Maggie fill our hearts with comfort, reflection, and hope.

Iverley Jam – Weekly Live Music Sessions
Every week, the sounds of live music fill the home as we host Iverley Jam our resident-led music session that brings everyone together. Residents, relatives, and team members join in with singing, drumming, and tambourines, creating a real sense of unity and joy.
Music plays a huge role in our wellbeing programme, helping to lift moods, spark memories, and encourage self-expression. Whether it’s a classic tune or a modern favourite, Iverley Jam has quickly become a highlight of the week and a wonderful opportunity for residents to showcase their musical talents.

Iverley on the Move!
Our residents recently enjoyed a wonderful trip out to Kinver and with one thing on their minds… cake! The group set off on the minibus for an afternoon of fresh air, laughter, and plenty of sweet treats.
A frothy caramel latte and a generous slice of Victoria sponge made the perfect pairing, along with good company and cheerful conversation. It was a simple outing, but full of smiles and meaningful moments.
We’re already planning our next adventure because at Iverley View, we know that life’s little pleasures, shared together, make the biggest memories.
Introducing Candylicious at Iverley View
There’s something new and very sweet at Iverley View; our brand-new on-site sweet shop, Candylicious!
The idea came straight from our residents, who helped choose the name after sharing lots of brilliant suggestions and taking part in a fun vote to pick the winner.
To celebrate the grand opening, our Memory Lane residents enjoyed browsing the colourful shelves and filling their bags with childhood favourites. The laughter, conversation and smiles filled the room as memories of old-fashioned sweet shops came flooding back.
It’s small touches like this that make life at Iverley View so special, sparking joy, connection, and a sprinkle of nostalgia with every treat.

Christmas Light Switch-On with Elvis
Elvis was in the building to shake, rattle and switch on the lights!
We had an unforgettable, amazing afternoon at Iverley View as our very own Elvis joined us to officially light up the home for Christmas!
Residents, families and staff were all ‘shook up’ by his amazing performance, it was brilliant!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the fun, music, great food, and magical lights!
Long live the King….. and long live the Christmas cheer!
Elvis has now left the building!!!! What a great turn out, bring Elvis back!!

Autumn Creativity In Full Bloom
Our residents have been making the most of the crisp autumn days out in the garden, gathering beautiful flowers and leaves to inspire a wonderful cardboard flower creation!
A huge thank you to Molly, our fab Activities Coordinator, for coming up with such a lovely, hands-on idea that brought smiles (and a splash of colour!) to everyone’s day. The residents loved it.
It’s amazing what a bit of fresh air, and creativity can do!

The Peak Iverley Blinders Event
Residents and staff stepped back in time for our Peak Iverley Blinders event, inspired by the hit TV series. The day was packed with 1920s flair; flat caps, vintage tunes, mocktails, and plenty of dancing. Our lounge was transformed into a themed speakeasy, complete with décor designed by our residents during craft club.
Events like these bring the home to life, encouraging creativity, confidence, and social connection. It was a day full of laughter, style, and good old-fashioned fun at Iverley View.
Seated Exercise Success at Iverley View
Our latest seated exercise session was full of energy, laughter and smiles and featured a very special moment. One of our residents, Tony, decided to join in for the first time, taking part with great enthusiasm and showing that movement can be fun at any age.
From ball games to beanbag throws, Tony was right in the heart of the action, encouraging others and reminding us all how powerful participation can be.
Moments like these truly capture the spirit of our Life Enrichment Programme building confidence, connection and joy through simple, everyday activities. Well done, Tony you’re our star of the day!

Garden Centre Adventure
Today we took our lovely resident, Rita, on a festive trip to the garden centre to help us choose the perfect Christmas tree for Iverley View!
Rita had a wonderful time exploring all the beautiful decorations, and helping us pick the tree that will bring Christmas magic to our home this year, Iverley View’s very first Christmas
We’re super excited to decorate our trees together with the residents, let the festive season begin.

Macmillan Coffee Morning at Iverley View
We proudly hosted our first annual Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise funds for a cause close to many of our hearts. Residents, staff, families, and visitors came together over tea, cake, and conversation, with homemade bakes donated by our talented team.
Our lounge was buzzing with community spirit as we shared memories, swapped recipes, and enjoyed performances from our regular volunteers.
Events like this are a reminder of how powerful small acts of kindness can be our residents were thrilled to play their part in supporting Macmillan Cancer Support. Together, we raised both funds and smiles in equal measure.

Bits & Bobs Playgroup – Our First Intergenerational Session
This week, we welcomed local families to Iverley View for the launch of our brand-new intergenerational playgroup, Bits & Bobs! The lounge was filled with laughter, nursery rhymes, and the happy chatter of little ones as residents joined in with sensory play and story time. The session created a wonderful sense of connection our residents shared stories from their own parenting days, while the children enjoyed plenty of smiles and cuddles.
Bringing together different generations helps combat loneliness and brings joy and energy into the home. After such a heart-warming start, Bits & Bobs will now run regularly as part of our Life Enrichment programme.
Pony Magic at Iverley View
Our residents enjoyed a truly magical afternoon when two beautiful ponies trotted into Iverley View for a special visit. The four-legged guests were an instant hit bringing smiles, cuddles and plenty of heart-warming moments.
Residents loved the chance to gently stroke and feed the ponies, sharing stories and memories from their own experiences with animals. The calm and comforting presence of the ponies created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the home, even making their way into the lift to spread the joy further.
Moments like these capture what our Life Enrichment Programme is all about connection, comfort and a touch of everyday magic for everyone at Iverley View.
Weekly Knit & Natter with Anne
Every Tuesday, our activity room comes alive with the gentle click of knitting needles and the happy hum of conversation as we gather for our Knit & Natter group.
Led by our lovely volunteer Ann, the group is a chance for residents to come together, share stories, and enjoy a relaxing activity while creating something beautiful. Some of our knitters are seasoned pros, while others are picking it up again after many years but everyone enjoys the sense of achievement (and the snacks and giggles along the way!).
It’s not just about the knitting, it’s about the friendships, laughter, and community spirit that make Iverley View feel like home.
