At Thackeray House Nursing Home we provide first-class 24-hour nursing and palliative care for older people as well as offering the opportunity for short-term respite stays, perhaps for convalescence after an operation or to give a family member a break from caring for a loved one. Thackeray House is a small, purpose-built home set in compact but beautifully maintained gardens at the heart of East Croydon, with excellent transport links to London and surrounding areas via train, bus and tram. There is a pleasant conservatory overlooking the rear garden and the home is a short walk from Croydon centre.
Personal profiles drawn up with the person concerned and relatives provide the basis for individualised care, treatment and support. They ensure that Thackeray House tailors activities, diet and medical care to particular needs.
The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator for the care sector in England. On their most recent inspection visit to Thackeray House in February 2013 they noted, ‘we observed care being delivered with kindness, understanding and dignity, and that ‘care plans were well structured, informative and detailed.’ They recorded residents as saying, ‘I am happy living here,’ the staff are good to me,’ and ‘staff are kind and helpful.’
Thackeray House welcomes visitors – we like people to drop into see what we can provide.
