Highfield Care Home

Welcome to the warm and friendly atmosphere of Highfield

We provide first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with Huntingdon's disease or MS. We also have one of Barchester's dedicated residential dementia care facilities or Memory Lane Communities.

Our team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of our residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

And our dedication can be seen across the board - in our cooking, hospitality and organising activities and regular music therapy sessions for our residents.

Highfield is situated in beautiful tranquil open parkland overlooking a lake, in close proximity to an historical Roman Catholic Church, which holds regular services.

We think you'll find we're ideally suited to meet your needs now and in the future to ensure you get the most from your retirement years.

Why not arrange a visit and see for yourself!

A Day Of Celebration

Glen Spindely has been a respite care resident at Highfield Care home for over 8 years. He stays at the home for a fortnight every two months and the staff at Highfield are now an extension of his family. Back in October 2011, he told us that his daughter and only child was getting married in March 2012, but due to his needs and being bed bound would mean unfortunately he would not be able to attend her special day. Mandy, his daughter asked if it would be possible to set up an internet link to the wedding venue as they had wireless broadband there and could set up a webcam at there end for her father to be able to watch the ceremony. Amazingly this was made possible and Glen was thrilled to be able to watch his daughter on her big day. Thanks to all who were involved.

Easter Bonnet Competition

Residents at Highfield Care Home enjoyed taking part in designing their own Easter bonnets decorated with flowers, ribbons and other gardening related items.

Summer Fair

The people living at Highfield and the community enjoyed their annual Summer Fair on the lawns of the Home. There was a live radio broadcast from Minster FM, bouncy castles, stalls, childrens fancy dress competition, the loveable alpacas and much much more.....

Russell Rollinson, Chef at Highfield Care Home

Russell Rollinson - Head Chef

After three years at college studying catering and hospitality I worked in various sectors of the catering industry, including hotels, pubs and restaurants. I began working for Barchester Healthcare 9 years ago and was initially recruited as an assistant chef but this was at another home. For the last 4 years I have been really proud to be catering manager/head chef here at Highfield. Home life is really important to me. I live with my lovely partner and my beautiful 1 year old daughter who keeps me busy!! But in what little spare time I have I enjoy football and playing darts.
