Wadhurst Celebrates its 1st Birthday
Wadhurst Manor celebrated it’s first birthday in October 2012 with an afternoon tea party for residents and staff. Musical entertainment with a touch of nostalgia was much enjoyed and residents danced away the afternoon or enjoyed a more sedentary boogie before tucking into a slice of celebratory cake washed down with a glass of fizz. Some residents, including Eileen who was the very first person to move into Wadhurst Manor, braved the rain to release a bunch of Barchester balloons into the grey skies. “What a difference a year makes” said Jo Bown, General Manager “I have seen Wadhurst Manor evolve from a slab of concrete to a living, breathing, vibrant community. I am so very proud of what we all have achieved which is a tribute to the hard work and passion for care that our staff team deliver”

"22nd March - I have so much to thank you all for. Looking after dementia sufferers is an under recognised skill. You have taught me so much by way of your patience with and respect for those in your care. It is not just the carers, it is the receptionist, office staff, managers, activity organisers, maintenance staff, cooks, cleaners and all those who make Wadhurst Manor a very special community."
"11th Novemebr 2012 - To All of my friends at Wadhurst, This letter is a reference to Wadhurst to say that your love, comfort, understanding and warmth that you give your residents is above and beyond anything I thought my dad to could have in a care home. My days of popping in were ones that I looked forward to, not only to see my beloved dad, but to chat to whoever was tending to him. I had the pleasure of meeting most of the staff and becoming friends with some of them too. My dad thought the world of you all, he thought and expressed to us that you are all wonderful. I thank you with all my heart for this and pray that you can all just keep loving and caring as you do and making life for people like myself that great deal easier."
