"My mum and dad came to Lakeside Manor in January 2017. Dad past away last March. The staff have been very caring to mum, now on her own and were exceptional during the coronavirus. We (family) are allowed to visit in the foyer."

"Moving Dad into a care home was a very difficult decision, but after viewing several homes, we decided that Lakeside Manor looked the most inviting. From the beautiful decor of the foyer with its comfy chairs and cheerful background music to the lovely light and airy cafe area with its constant supply of tea, coffee and freshly baked cake that makes you feel extremely welcome and is a great space for families to visit their loved ones. The dining area is laid out like a restaurant with a three-course menu on display for both lunch and dinner, and family members are even invited to have the occasional meal with their loved one. We can’t thank the staff enough for their care and dedication and in my Dads own words ‘the staff are superb’. Thank you, Lakeside Manor; you are amazing!"

"My mum and dad lived in one of the self-contained apartments attached to Lakeside Manor up until years ago when extra care and help was needed they moved into Lakeside Manor. My dad passed away in March aged 95, so my mum is there on her own now. The staff have really gone out of their way to help Mum which is so comforting, especially during this difficult time when we cannot visit her. They have set up Skype and Facetime and will wheel her outside so we can see each other and chat. All the staff show dedication, are professional and are very caring and friendly. Cleanliness, decor and food are all excellent."

"The staff at Lakeside have been phenomenal, particularly during this pandemic, and especially one carer. She has gone above and beyond her daily duties, providing our family with regular phone and video updates of our father. She cares for him like she would her own family member. Nothing is too much trouble. We can’t thank her enough. She is a true angel in our eyes and during this difficult time, we know that he is in the best possible place and being cared for to the highest standards. Thank you so very much."

"My Mum was living alone and her dementia was worsening. She had been very resistant to moving into any kind of care facility. We had Meals on Wheels, and a caregiver coming twice a week to help her bathe and to do some light housework. Then she fell. And we realized she needed a lot more care than we had in place. We were so fortunate that there was a place available at Lakeside, not just for Mum, but also for her beloved dog. We were able to move Mum in within three days; then COVID-19 lockdown began. The staff at Lakeside have been amazing, We haven't been able to visit Mum but every time we call, the staff are happy to chat and give us updates on Mum. The manager responds to any email inquiries. One member of staff has done an amazing job in setting up and running a Facebook page so that we can see photos of Mum and the other residents, and the activities they are enjoying, The Liberation Day party looked amazing! The staff have also done a great job in taking care of Mum's dog. Thank you."

"My 92 year old Mum has been in Lakeside previously for respite and now residing in Lakeside Manor. As a family, we had visited and researched many homes prior to choosing Lakeside. The overwhelming factor on entry is the cleanliness and decor. It felt as though Mum would be in her own little flat, surrounded by trained, friendly staff who would care for her and we have found this to be the case:- from reception/admin/nursing/care/activities staff and management are a credit to Barchester and as a family we thank you."

"My father-in-law entered Lakeside Manor having stopped all his medication and refusing to eat. This was on 28th May. By the Saturday, he was up and dressed and eating breakfast in the dining room. He has had some ups and downs over the last few weeks but the staff have been extremely patient and kind with him as well as encouraging. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for him."

"Would just like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Lakeside Care Home for looking after my Nan. I haven't seen her look this well in months and I even heard her speak for the first time in way too long. She hasn't even been there a month and her progress already is amazing. Would also like to thank the staff from Lakeside Manor who have taken time out of their day to go and visit her. She really is being treated like 'The Queen' that she is. Can't thank you guys enough."

"Exceeded all expectations. All aspects of Dad's care were met with an empathy tailored to his particular needs. Therefore I had complete peace of mind knowing that both his physical and emotional needs were met with compassion and expertise. A wonderful environment for him to have lived his final years. Endless patience and understanding in sometimes challenging times. Thank you so much from all who loved him."

"The duty of care has been second to none from dealing with our Father (the resident) to dealing with us in a very friendly, professional manner. My father has settled in so well in such a short space of time, which has been very comforting to our whole family. For Easter we booked to have a family lunch with our Dad, the food and service was fantastic, so courteous, friendly and so very relaxing for us all, very delightful. We are very happy, overwhelmed etc."
