Badgeworth Court is set in a quiet but easily accessible rural location in Badgeworth, not far from Cheltenham. It is a picturesque building with beautiful and easily accessible gardens, providing 24-hour nursing care for frail older people and people living with dementia.
Our dedicated Memory Lane Community for people living with dementia is a carefully designed area of the home, with well-trained, well-supervised and dedicated staff. Throughout the homes there is a focus on independence, dignity and choice. As an example of the excellence of the staff group, the prestigious National Care Awards’ Registered Care Nurse of the Year went to Pauline Taylor from Badgeworth Court last year.
Terri Berry, General Manager reached the national finals of the Care Awards for Care Manager. We have also had winners in The Barchester Care Awards having winners in the following categories:- Carer, Activities, Trainer and Hospitality. Our Hospitality Manager, Jane Ennis had twice made it to the Barchester finals of the Chef Award. We also regularly reach the finals of the Barchester in Bloom and have won the Hanging Baskets and Displays category.
Following our unannounced inspection in January 2014 we met all outcomes inspected. The following comments were noted on the report "staff are always looking in on you" "staff get to know you, they say you are not yourself today, is there anything we can do for you?" "We are very close here, we are one big happy family" One resident said when asked about activities "there is always plenty to do" One resident said "I have no worries about anything here, anything that crops up here, I go to the boss and she sorts it that day or the next day."
I am proud of my team who work together to ensure that person centred care is delivered throughout the Home.
