Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Beatrix Potter Day

We are always busy Here at Mount Tryon.

This month was Beatrix Potter’s Birthday. Beatrix Potter, whose full name was Helen Beatrix Potter, was born on July 28, 1866, in South Kensington, England.

To mark this occasion we have decorated our cupcakes with our homemade cupcake toppers.  We enjoyed these with our afternoon tea, whilst one of our lovely residents read us one of her famous stories.

Pet Therapy at Mount Tryon

Here at Mount Tryon we are now lucky enough to have Pets as Therapy.

We will be visited weekly by Lisa and her Pets as Therapy dog Burtie.

Our first visit was so rewarding for our residents, bringing a smile to their faces and allowing them to immerse themselves in the moment.

Thank you Lisa and Burtie can’t wait to see you again next week and in the months to come.

Homemade Ice Cream at Mount Tryon

In July we had lots of fun as we made our own homemade Ice Cream. We made a vanilla base and then flavoured one mint choc chip, one almond, one maltesers and left some to be a traditional vanilla flavour.

Making it was so much fun and sparked lots of conversation around ice creams, trips by the sea and the ice cream van jingles. We also tried our hands at an ice cream quiz which proved to be very interesting and educational.

Once it had set, we all enjoyed tucking in to the various flavours. Our residents have said what a lovely way it was to spend an afternoon.
