Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
Bowled Over!
Now that sailing season is over, we have moved indoors to focus on alternative activities during the winter season, and residents recently enjoyed a game of ten-pin bowling. They loved battling it out between themselves for the top score and watching who was the first to achieve a strike.
The Christmas Spirit
Residents thoroughly enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit nice and early when we visited our local Van Hage garden centre. They enjoyed looking at the Christmas displays and we finished off the afternoon with a nice cup of tea and a mince pie.
Museum Trip
Residents and staff of Longueville Court enjoyed a lovely afternoon visiting a local museum. The day included listening to an informative talk on the Roman army and looking at toys from yesteryear, which was, undoubtedly, the highlight of the trip.
Residents enjoyed reminiscing about the toys from their childhood, and looking back at them brought back lovely memories for all.
It was a very enjoyable day that we are very much looking forward to repeating.
Alzheimer's Memory Walk
Staff, volunteers and residents enjoyed taking part in the annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk to raise money for a great cause that’s close to all our hearts.
Thankfully, the sun was shining and residents successfully walked the whole 2km course. A lovely cup of coffee was the reward at the end of the day and was very well-deserved before we all collected our medals as a memento from the day.
An Evening to Remember
Residents and staff had an evening to remember recently when they were invited to watch Peterborough United FC entertain MK Dons at the Abax stadium.
Everyone enjoyed the great atmosphere and were thrilled to watch Posh win 2-0. For some of the residents, it was their first time watching a game of professional football – and great time was had by all!
We look forward to attending another game soon.
Garden Party
Residents were thrilled to join in a singalong with live entertainment from one of our favourite singers, Jeremy, who got everyone up singing and dancing. Residents and staff were in good spirits and enjoyed a glass of Pimm's and lemonade to finish the afternoon off in style.
