"My father came to Longueville Court in January very chatty with the staff, and over the next few weeks, declined, with dignity, with ample wifi (very important to him!) and with every care that the staff could bestow. They were attentive to all his needs as his condition worsened and kept us informed whenever necessary. I hope when my time comes, I'm cared for by such a good team. I seriously don't know how you do it. Thanks to you all."

"It is with a heavy yet grateful heart that I share this message of sincere thanks to the remarkable staff at Longueville Court Care Home. On Wednesday 24th January 2024, our beloved father peacefully passed away under the dedicated care of the compassionate professionals at this care home. During his final days, the level of care and support extended to Dad and our family was nothing short of extraordinary. The staff went above and beyond in providing not only medical expertise but also heartfelt compassion. Their dedication made an indelible impact on our family the staff created an environment of comfort and understanding, which eased the burden for us all. Professionalism, coupled with genuine empathy, was a source of solace we will forever cherish. We extend our deepest thanks to all involved. I highly recommend for their unparalleled care and support. With heartfelt thanks."

"I had never been on respite and had been told a lot of horror stories about care homes so was a little worried, but I can honestly say that my stay was great. All of the staff were fantastic and were always there if needed. Nothing was too much trouble, also the accommodation and food were more like being in a hotel. I definitely recommend the home to anyone. I will be returning a few times each year and, when the time comes, would like to live my life out there."

"I was a bit worried about going in for respite as you hear a lot of bad things about care homes, but I need not have worried, my stay was great, the home is more like a hotel, and the rooms are big with a bathroom and shower. The food was great and the care from the staff was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. I will be going there again for more respite and when the time comes that we can not manage at home I would love to live the rest of my life at Barchester Longueville."

"All staff on Skylark ward are courteous, kind and respectful. They are so very patient and kind to Mother, even when things can be trying. They are dedicated and patient. If we could award a pay rise to each and every one we would. A really caring nursing home. Thank you all."

"I have been visiting my friend in Barchester Longueville Court Care Home for about two years. All of the staff I've met, from those on reception to nurses, carers, cleaners, gardeners etc have all been very welcoming and friendly. Each area is always spotlessly clean. The whole atmosphere definitely has a real 'home' feel about it."

"My father has been a resident at Longueville Court for the past nine months. He has received good nursing care from the team and appears to be as happy as he can be. Unfortunately, he has very limited movement and speech and is completely dependent on staff for all his activities of daily living. However, this has not proved an obstacle for the fantastic activity team. Last week two members of staff took him to Ferry Meadows and managed to get him into a boat onto the lake, which I know he would have thoroughly enjoyed. A great achievement on their behalf, and I can’t thank them enough for what they have done for him. Thank you so much ladies, as a family, we are extremely grateful to you both for brightening up his life, which I know he would really appreciate."

"My mother has now been at Longueville Court for nine months and has just celebrated her 104th birthday, with entertainment arranged by the recreation team. My mother loves spicy food, and curry has started to appear on the menu, much to her delight. I am a regular visitor to Longueville Court, and all the staff I have met are friendly and caring and do a difficult and often demanding job to a very high standard."

"Last year, our father had a major stroke causing paralysis, loss of speech and difficulty with eating and consequently requires having all his basic needs cared for around the clock. He moved into this care home in November 2022 and the staff have always shown great kindness, support and consideration to him and to us. We have been particularly impressed with the activity staff who are extremely enthusiastic and go out of their way to help the residents - they are amazing! For example, they have managed to take Dad to Ferry Meadows on a few occasions - this is a place that is very special to him and he used to visit there nearly every day after our mum died. This has meant a lot to him and although he cannot speak, it is obvious that he enjoys these trips. Yesterday, they even managed to get him into a sailing boat which was a huge achievement and something that we didn't think that Dad would ever be able to do again. We cannot thank them enough for their energy, care and dedication."

"My husband went to Longueville Court to enable me to visit family in Scotland. From our first visit, the staff were welcoming and friendly. He found them to be caring and considerate, with everything possible being done to ensure his comfort and well-being. The standards in Longueville Court are high. It is spotlessly clean. The quality of the food is first class with several choices available at each meal. This care home is well above standard. Have no fear about placing a loved one here."

"Staff are very friendly, supportive and helpful but sometimes when visiting, I need to ask staff to give my friend care, e.g. face dressing and pain relief. Staff came quickly and administered the care that was needed without question and with dignity towards myself and my friend. I cannot comment about activities or the money situation s they didn't apply to my friend. Lastly, one small point, my friend's bedroom furniture needed to be updated."

"The resident is very well cared for. All staff know them and their likes and dislikes. Everybody from nurses, carers, receptionists and the activity team etc knows them. Also, ask how they are if from a different unit. Could not ask for better care. Would recommend this home, I can't answer food and drink as the resident is peg-fed but pre Covid we could have a meal and it was good."

"I am very impressed with the care home at this time. My mum is physically frail and the carers check constantly to make sure she has what she needs. What did impress me most is the care and attention given to the resident's mental welfare. There are so many activities that are going on and Mum is actively encouraged to join in which makes me happy. It gives my mum so much variety which she didn't have at home. Thank you everyone."

"My mum has been welcomed into Longueville Court Care Home and we have been thrilled to see how well she has settled. I feel that the staff have really tried to get to know her and understand her. One example is the water colour painting she enjoyed doing. It was a pleasure to see Mum rediscover this with the help and encouragement of staff, a big thanks to everyone who contributes to Mum's wellbeing and welfare."

"I've come to Longueville Court straight from the hospital and had no idea what to expect. A nice modern but stylish building set well back from the road and neighbours was my first view of where I was coming to live. The large reception was very nicely decorated and set out with what I was to learn was a café area for residents and visitors. I was shown to a frankly stunning room, a huge and fully appointed lovely ensuite. I couldn't ask for better although the staff made it clear that if I needed anything I just had to ask. The staff are friendly and professional and your preferences are asked for and remembered. If you wish, you can eat in your room or if capable you can eat with other residents in the nice dining room which I normally do. The food, by the way, is very good, not what I expected and the staff go above and beyond to give you whatever you want. One of my major concerns was medication but I need not have worried because my painkillers are always on time. Overall an excellent place to live."

"My sister arrived here from A&E, and from the moment she arrived was greeted with friendly faces and exceptional care. The room, the service level provided and the staff are all wonderful and meet all her needs. The training of the staff enables Longueville Court to be the best possible place for her to be. All the family and friends who have visited are amazing at the attention. Well done."

"From the moment I first stepped in, I knew this was the care home I wanted my mum to live in. Unfortunately, she was only with you for a few weeks before she died, but the care from the nurses and the rest of the team was excellent. Everyone was so friendly and always spoke to me when I visited. The home was very clean, rooms spacious and homely. "The care given to relatives is brilliant. They are looked after so well. Everyone knows the residents and they do not use agency staff and never have. They all go over and above their duty to keep residents safe. The resident is peg fed so the food I can't answer but in the past was good when I had a meal with the resident, even on a gluten-free, egg-free and nut and banana free diet they could cater for."

"My mother received excellent care at Longueville Court in her final few weeks. The nursing staff, in particular, were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. The home is clearly well run, and all the staff are professional and caring. The absence of agency staff is a good sign that staffing levels are more than adequate. Along with the fact that the home is spotlessly clean, it is hard to find fault with anything to do with the place. Having seen many care homes, I highly recommend Longueville to anyone."

"Mum has been at Longueville Court for 18 months and is very well cared for on Memory Lane. Mum is safe, always very clean and enjoys her food. Dad joined the home on respite a year ago and has stayed, as he is able to be with Mum. The nurses and carers show respect, kindness and compassion, which Dad comments on when he sees the care that mum is getting. The activities team have a great sense of fun and they go out of their way to please dad, such as picking up his newspaper every day and making a special Valentine's tea for them. Thank you, chef! Kingfisher Unit are very kind to Dad and the lead nurse is excellent at communicating any issues to me. I have every confidence in the team led by the manager who always makes time to help my parents and our family, as does her deputy. Longueville is a safe, caring and happy place. Thank you one and all!"

"To date, I have been very pleased with the care the Barchester - Longueville Court has provided for my mother who has dementia. The staff notifies me regarding any issues or concerns. My mother is looked after with respect and she is allowed to walk around the corridors which she enjoys and to seek company from the staff ie allowed to sit in the nurses office. There appear a variety of activities for my mother if she so wishes to take part. The manager is always available via phone or e-mail which is appreciated."

"This is an excellent home and cares for our daughter brilliantly. All staff very polite when answering the phone and keep us informed as needed. This is very important at the time. "My father was a resident at Longueville Court Care home and our family experience of the home is it's extremely well managed with a superb team of staff from reception and admin to highly competent, compassionate, caring and professional care staff as well as highly qualified and experienced nursing staff. In addition support staff such as those in maintenance, cleaning and laundry demonstrated considerable care and dedication to the needs of residents and my father in particular. Nothing was too much trouble. During the last two weeks of my father's life the level of care, compassion, sensitivity to need was of considerable help to us as a family especially during the challenging COVID situation and associated restrictions the care home has to operate within to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and residents. Care home staff and especially the care home manager, made a very difficult situation just that little bit easier, for which we are extremely grateful."

"1. Care provided very good and thanks to care staff. 2. Strongly suggest that all staff have training to help them with communicating with families more sensitively and to meet resident confidentiality. Bigger coffee space. 3. Activities on offer need to be broadened so residents with Alzheimer's have more sensory and musical experiences and more trips out. 4. Think Memory Lane Longueville needs updating and renovating. Would be nice if it had a nicer name and newsletter had news from Memory Lane."

"Longueville Court is a very happy home with brilliant staff. They care for my daughter very well, and we know she is in good hands, which is very important at the moment. Activities team very good at Skype calls, which really help at this time. As the resident cannot speak, phone calls to the unit are answered politely and we can ask questions when needed, and given up to date info the phone calls really help at this unprecedented time. Nurses are good at ringing us when needed. I can say the food is good, as had a visitor's meal at Christmas, and they can deal with food allergies well, but don't know what they're like at the moment."

"I viewed another home a few months ago but unfortunately have been unable to Longueville Court since Mum has been there due to COVID-19. I cannot, therefore, complete some of the boxes below. Mum resides on Memory Lane, having moved from the NHS system in April. It is extremely hard not to be able to visit her (for reasons that we fully understand and support). However, the staff has been immensely helpful in enabling me to communicate with Mum by telephone on a regular basis. The staff has kept me fully informed of Mum's health and day to day condition."

"My Mum was a resident at Longueville Court for 8 years, she died on 24/04/20, not from the Covid 19 virus, but other causes. I want to praise the staff, Carers and Nurses for looking after my Mum so well. From the moment she arrived, she was treated as though it was her own home and she became one of their family. She suffered with Alzheimer's, and at times as the illness progressed she became very difficult and sometimes unpleasant to care for, but the staff always treated her so kindly and had patience beyond belief. In the last 2 years or so she became confined to her bed and got more frail and the Skylark team really loved her and found ways of handling her so she didn't get distressed, it was lovely to see. I had complete confidence that my Mum was being kept clean, cosy and calm, fed well etc. They would play her cd's, dress her in her favourite clothes, spray her with her perfume, cuddle and calm her when she cried. Additionally, they supported me, becoming like friends."

The staff at the home treated her with respect and kindness, even though she made it clear she didn't want to be in a care home! Her second stay was a short one, only two weeks before she died. "Mum stayed on Longueville Court Care Home for nearly three years and came to regard it as her home and the staff as her friends. The care she received especially in the last two weeks of her life was exemplary. She was treated with great compassion and sympathy along with her family for which we will always be grateful. The one improvement that could be made is that her room looked tired and was in need of a total refurbishment both decor and furnishings."

"After many falls my mother-in-law moved into Longueville Court. from day one we were told, "This is her home, treat it as so". From the initial meeting, we were put at ease regarding the ability of Longueville Court to cope with mum's complex care needs. These needs have been met with knowledge, compassion, understanding and great care and professionalism. We get frequent updates on how she's doing, can visit anytime, can approach staff without hesitation to ask anything. Nothing is to much trouble at Longueville Court. To make sure mum is well her medical needs addressed and that she is happy and we are happy is something they work very hard to achieve here. The care she has received has surpassed anything we could have hoped for when it became apparent she needed nursing care. We would recommend Longueville Court highly to anyone."

"My Mum has been looked after here for the last 6 years. She has Alzheimer's and is 96. She has gradually deteriorated, and very sadly no longer knows me, or her other family members. When selecting this home I viewed 6 others and consider ourselves very lucky that we were able to get Mum in here. In my experience, no home is perfect, but Longueville Court is as close as you can get. In the early days Mum joined in with the activities, loved her meal times and the interaction with the staff, but she is very limited now and is cared for with dignity. She has extreme behaviour swings and can be very difficult, but the carers and nurses are wonderful with her. I visit weekly, and on different days and times, and the standard is consistently good. Since the Manager took over, I have noticed it has improved even more with every staff member doing an excellent job. Everyone involved in running this home deserves a massive pat on the back."

"My wife was at Barchester Longueville Court Care Home for 6 years and recently passed away. The care was very good and the activities were excellent, she loved the entertainment. The staff were like our family. I thoroughly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a care home. I miss the staff and residents so much. I have applied to be a volunteer at the home."

"My father who is 92 was a resident at Longueville Court for almost 5 weeks. He had complex care needs which the staff dealt with in a caring and dignified way. He was happy there and well looked after. Sadly he was taken ill and died there. The staff were really supportive and caring at what was a really difficult time for the family, we thank them all."

"The atmosphere on entering the care home is relaxed and welcoming; it is like stepping into a light and airy country house. There is an impression of efficient but discreet management. Staff are always on hand to answer any queries. The lines of communication are very good. My mother always seemed content and secure. I was confident that she was well cared for in a safe environment."

"I have visited my brother in law on Memory Lane for the past five years. For three years on a weekly basis and the past two years fortnightly. He joined when in the early stage of Alzheimer's and was very active and very good company. Now he is far down the line - does not communicate at all, does not leave his bed and has to be 'turned' regularly. In all this time his needs have been met and he has been treated with kindness and dignity under the outstanding management. I am a retired NHS nurse."

"My sister in law has been cared for with the utmost compassion and understanding of her particular needs, whilst providing an atmosphere of happiness, cheerfulness and positivity over the last 2 years. Every member of staff, including management, reception, nurses, carers and caretakers have always been extremely welcoming, helpful and informative resulting in what I feel is a real sense of homeliness for the residents. With the sad passing of my sister in law, everyone at the home has been overwhelmingly kind and supportive to her family and friends. I applaud the staff for their professionalism and thank them for their friendship at a difficult time."

"When I first needed a nursing home to take care of Mum, I visited 6 care homes including Longueville Court where I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. Although I live close by to 4 other care homes within the Peterborough area, it became clear that there was something special about Longueville Court. Mum initially moved in for respite care, then becoming a full-time resident where she was safe, looked after and cared for by the wonderful nurses and carers within the 'Skylark' unit. She made new friends with other residents and enjoyed the entertainment that was made available to her. Sadly after 15 weeks, she passed away but the level of nursing care and support to me and my family at this incredibly sad time was beyond our expectations. I'm quite sure she was happy with her time there and I would like to acknowledge everyone who looked after her and nursed her to the end. Thank you so much!"

"Dad has been living at Longueville Court for nearly 5 months and has settled in well. From the very first time we went to visit Longueville Court to see if it was suitable for Dad, we have been very impressed with the manager and all the staff. Everyone is very professional, efficient, friendly, caring and there is always a happy atmosphere. Dad’s medical and personal needs are very well looked after. The activities on offer are varied and interesting and he enjoys them very much – especially the sailing which is a new hobby for him at 90! Dad feels happy, safe and cared for – that says it all."

"Nursing staff are fantastic, friendly, caring dedicated individuals. They are very informative, honest under difficult circumstances and knowledgeable of care required regarding my honorary aunt's condition. "My mum has been at Longueville Court for just over seven years now and I am pleased to say the care she receives is as good as the day she went in. All staff are friendly and approachable. "My mother entered Longueville Court to receive end-of-life care expected to last 8-12 weeks. She received the most exemplary care possible from all staff members through what became her final 24 weeks. At one point, she likened the care to being in a hotel. I believe the very high level of care she received contributed to extended life, for which the family were extremely grateful. Her condition meant that eating was difficult but the staff usually found something she could manage. My mother was French and it was lovely to hear some of the multi-lingual staff talk to her in her native language and on one occasion, return from their holiday with local newspapers from her region of France. Nothing was too much trouble. As visitors, we were always made welcome, whenever we arrived. Longueville court is clean and odourless with good lounge facilities and although my mother was unable to take advantage of them, the recreational facilities and trips appeared extensive."

"My mum has been in Memory Lane unit in Longueville Court Nursing Home for a few years. She had previously been in another care home who did not meet my mother's needs. Since being in this home, my family have noticed several things that make this home stand out above others. The staff are always on hand. She showers daily and as my mother goes days without sleep, she also sleeps for a day or so, missing meals, but they have a special menu on hand for when she wants food. Sometimes she can eat for England. Well done to all who care for her."

"The home is the best run happiest home I have ever visited. I have never had a bad experience when visiting. The staff are happy so this has a knock on effect on the residents and they are all so well cared for! The reception staff are always welcoming and helpful. The nursing staff take great care with my friend and she has improved greatly since she has bee at the home. She had a grade 4 sore from the last home she was in, it is now gone incredible. I would recommend the home for anyone's loved one or even myself."

"I visit my nan on a regular basis and always receive a warm welcome by all the staff they are so helpful from the moment I walked in I can see how well maintained, and clean the home is and my nan is always washed and dressed, her room is spotless. They have lots of entertainment for the residents and the food is always available and looks lovely. If anything happens to my nan they always let the family know and my nan is much happier in Longueville Court Care Home than she ever was in any of the other care homes. So nice I have told my mum she will be coming here."

"My mother has been a resident for over 11 years and has in the family's opinion the best care that is possible. The staff, medical, management and all the additional staff encompassing the kitchen and cleaning are first class and I would have no hesitation in recommending the care home to anyone. It is sometimes easy to criticise but I think all the staff do a great job. The ability to visit at any time is a further positive for all at Longueville Court."

"When my Nan was transferred from London to the Barchester in Peterborough last year we as a family did not know what to expect. When we first arrived the staff could not have been more caring and kind towards us and Nan. They made us all feel welcome even the great grandchildren, explaining the facilities available. We were able to personalise her room to make her feel more settled and safe in her surroundings as the move was confusing with Nan having Alzheimer's.The team looking after Nan treat her with kindness and patience and kept us fully informed on how she was each day. The home provides hair services etc and each day we arrived Nan was washed dressed and looking smart and presentable which was very important to her and unfortunately due to her Alzheimer's had been difficult for her to achieve when she was living at home. They were no restriction on visiting so we were able to spend lots of time at the home which was great until Nan passed away at the age of 89."

"I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for quality of care for their loved ones. From the minute you arrive at reception you are greeted by friendly, polite and helpful staff who make you feel welcome. During my daily visits, I met members of the management team, activities team, nursing staff, carers, maintenance, and the cleaners; every single person I met had those same qualities. "After the first home Mum was in Longueville was heaven, you walk in and no nasty smells, anyone would think they had walked into a fantastic hotel, basically it was home from home, with a huge family added. Every single person employed from gardener up to Manager was a member. The care was wonderful and no-one could have been treated better from my point of view even with her problems. Mum loved it, appreciated all the hard work put in by everyone there. Sadly she passed recently, even the doctor and undertakers couldn't have been more caring at the end. She was treated with dignity by them and it was a peaceful end for her."

She could not be anywhere better and as a community nurse, I have always been able to find some fault with some care or some aspect of the home. "Right from our initial visit management and staff showed genuine concern and provided the highest quality support in both making arrangements and organising the transfer to the home. The home was very clean, well decorated with an abundance of facilities for residents to visitors alike. Staffing levels were high and all were helpful, kind and very supportive at all times of the day or night. "I am writing this as the wife of my husband who, passed away yesterday after 4 and a half years as a resident of Longueville Court Care Home, Peterborough. He had such loving care and I can't praise them enough."

"The care shown by all staff including nurses has been excellent. They go the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy. The Kingfisher Unit is the specific area I am talking about. Staff are sometimes stretched to the limit (when they are always working hard and running around to get things done) which is unfair on them. They always had time to smile and say hello in passing to my mother but it would be great if all carer homes had a person to spend one hour a day with a resident to just talk, hold hand, be there, it makes all the difference."

"My partner was in hospital and we looked at almost all the nursing homes in Peterborough, and we were pleased when we were offered a place at Longueville Court. When we were shown around I was impressed by they number of staff around, and it has been my experience that there is always staff available. All the staff are pleasant and helpful, and they genuinely take an interest in her welfare. Many care homes reek of incontinence, but that is not the case at Longueville Court. There is a varied programme of activities including some talented outside acts. friends and relations are encouraged to visit and receive a warm welcome when they do so. My mother was a resident at another Peterborough nursing home and I soon realised that she was not getting the attention that was warranted, so it is a great relief that my partner is in an excellent home."

"I can honestly say, in my experience, this is the best care home I have ever visited and I am grateful for the care that they provided here for my grandmother. The staff are beyond amazing, their attitude and care toward residents is above and beyond expectation. My family was given the chance of another year with my nan because of the attentive, wonderful care of these people. She was comfortable, happy and relaxed in this care home and we were able to enjoy the last of our time with her here. I cannot praise and thank these lovely people enough, their brilliant balance of professionalism and the ability to treat patients and relatives as if they were their own family, sets them apart from any other home I have been to. There are no words to fully explain the work these people do here - they are angels.
