Activities at Cumberland Grange Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Gosia Maliga

Activities Coordinator

I have been in the care sector since 2008, and I also have a degree in teaching. I am here to arrange and run a varied range of activities for our residents to take part in, keep them entertained and enrich their lives. From flower arranging, quizzes, arts and crafts to movies in the cinema, I try to make sure there is something for everyone here to take part in, and tailor events to suit each resident.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEAN

Another wonderful Birthday here at Cumberland Grange - this time it was our lovely Jeans turn! She celebrated with her loved ones, followed by enjoying her favourite cake made by our Head Chef Chris.

We feel very lucky to be able to spend time with our residents on their special days!

CUMBERLAND GRANGE PUB QUIZ

Last night we had our first and most certainly not our last Cumberland Grange Christmas Pub Quiz!

A fantastic evening - It become competitive at times but with some great prizes up for grabs each team came together to ensure they didn’t win the wooden spoon!

There were traditional pubs snacks, mince pies, chocolates, roasted potatoes and pigs in blankets to keep our teams well fed throughout the night and a selection of beers, ales, wines and cocktails all served by our Head Chef Chris.

Once the quiz had finished and the prizes had been distributed to each team, we enjoyed some Christmas music and a little boogie!

Great effort teams!

Each day when the clock strikes 3pm, you’ll find a different themed tea trolley making its way around the home and yesterday afternoon we had Espresso Martinis - they went down a storm.

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS

Yesterday we were joined by some wonderful members of our community and beyond in a Christmas crafts session. We made small wreathes, dried fruit garlands and more.

Our amazing Chef Chris made the BEST mince pies (in fact, some of the best our guests had ever eaten!!) and mulled wine which was thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We had a great time and can’t wait to have you all back again soon.
