Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Life at The Warren Care Home

A Visit to the Seaside

A Visit to the Seaside

After our August break from our trips out, we visited West Runton for a cup of tea and cake at the seaside. It was a beautiful day and quite hot, so much so that Joy, our Head of Activities, had to put a bag on her head as it was burning - well, that was her excuse!

Alan and Olive thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially as they had fresh tea to drink. They have, in fact, already asked when we are going again. I guess that depends on if the weather will hold out for a bit longer.

Employee of the Month - August

Employee of the Month - August

Our Employee of the Month for august at The Warren is Jeanette, who is part of the kitchen team and one of our Hostesses. As she is going round with her trolley you can always hear her chatting and laughing with everyone en route. She is very bubbly and easy going in her role, and very much looks forward to her well-earned holiday in Benidorm.

Employee of the Month - July

Our Employee of the Month for July here at The Warren is Sue Moore. Sue is always cheerful and ready to help where she can with both residents and other members of staff. Sue makes some amazing cakes and often brings them in to the staff room where they are very much appreciated. Please don’t stop Sue!

Wells Thursford

Wells Thursford

We enjoyed another trip on the minibus on the morning of 13th July. This time it took us to the North Norfolk coast and Wells for fish & chips on the harbour. Unfortunately, it started to rain and all inside seating was taken up in the only two fish & chip shops, but we compromised and ate them on the mini bus. As we had anticipated this, we went prepared with knives, forks, lap trays and drinks for all. From here, we made our way back inland towards The Thursford Steam Collection, where one of the newest residents, Jim, was particularly pleased, as he used to drive The Flying Scotsman. Jim can be seen sitting beside a Showman’s engine.

Minibus Tour

On 22nd June, we boarded the minibus for a very enjoyable trip around our local highways and byways. To begin, we went to the Castle Carvery at Caister for lunch. From here, we made our way to Hopton Garden Centre for tea and cake and to look around the garden! We crossed the River Yare by a chain ferry from the village of Thurlton to Reedham and then finally back to The Warren.
