Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

John's Handywork

This is John, who is very proudly showing off his model of the Cutty Sark, which he received for Christmas. John built this very quickly and has already got another project on the go. He also paints and is currently painting a picture of Pulls Ferry, a well known landmark in the city of Norwich.

On the 23rd January, everyone gathered in the dining room at lunch time to see Carol receive her 10 Year Service Award.

Carol started working for Barchester at The Warren on the 22nd January 2007 as a Kitchen Assistant until 2008, when she joined the housekeeping team. In 2015 Carol, was appointed as the Head Housekeeper, a post that she kept until 2017, when she passed on the reigns to one of her colleagues.

15 Years of Service

15 Years of Service

Friday 13th January saw several members of staff and residents gather in the TV lounge to see Joy presented with her 15 Year Service Award. Joy started her life with Barchester as a carer and worked her way up to a senior carer, but for the last eight years has been Head of Activities. Joy has many talents, such as knitting, and during her time with activities, has knitted many things, including every decoration - and the angel - on one of the many Christmas trees that we have at The Warren. In fact, she has already started on this year’s knitted project for Christmas and we are only in January!
