Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Valentine's Day

Our residents of Lancaster Grange have thoroughly enjoyed a very special Valentine’s Day.

We happily welcomed Jeremy into our home for a Valentine's live performance in our communal café. What a fantastic morning of love songs, which our residents reminisced and san along to.

It was wonderful to see our loved ones joining us and to see how traditional red roses and cards brought so much joy to our residents around our home.

After a Valentine's Day inspired lunch, we enjoyed home-baked chocolate-dipped shortbread hearts and tasty Viennese biscuits.

A fabulous time for our residents here at Lancaster Grange.

Pancake Day

Our residents of Lancaster Grange celebrated Pancake Day yesterday. We started the morning with a fun pancake tasting session, Patrick happily mixed up the pancakes, we didn’t need to find a recipe for this !

We have learned lots of information provided by our valuable resource Oomph Wellness all about Pancake Day

We were able to discuss the meaning behind and reminiscence about Pancake day with our families.

Our residents reminisced about mixing and making pancakes, and we found that the most traditional and popular filling was lemon & sugar.

Our tasting session in the morning was certainly enjoyable, and then we thoroughly enjoyed pancakes as a dessert at lunch, provided by our Peri Chef Tom.

We did a quiz after lunch and had a great start to the morning here at Lancaster Grange Care home.

David Fox Magician visiting residents at Lancaster Grange

Our Lancaster Grange residents were treated to a wonderful afternoon with David Fox Magic, David has visited our home many times and each time provides a fabulous experience.

David kindly became acquainted with the names of our residents and engaged them in an afternoon of thrilling tricks.

Our Residents were asked to choose cards and take part in magical tricks that resulted in festive fruits and chocolates.

One of the residents expressed gratitude for an interesting and unique experience and asked if he could come back for a summer show. We are excited to host David at our Summer Fayre.

A fun, friendly and memorable activity for our Christmas 2023.

Countryside drives to Maxeys Farm Shop

Our residents, of Lancaster Grange enjoyed a wonderful trip this morning riding through the villages of their local community to stop off at Maxeys Farm Shop & Kitchen. Visiting the farm shop was on one of our residents wish list and were delighted to hear they would be going.. It’s the first time we have visited the new restaurant, since opening and we were intrigued to how the shop and café has changed.

Ann was thrilled with the surroundings and thoroughly enjoyed her Americano Coffee. Dennis also was extremely happy with the outing comparing the coffee to his home roast. The farm shop was fantastic, enabling our residents to indulge in some local produce and sample delicious food and drink.
