Activities at Challoner House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

St George's Day

We celebrated St George’s Day in style at Challoner with a lovely St George’s Day and Best of British Trivia Afternoon. Residents tested their knowledge on British past and present and enjoyed a traditional Victoria Sponge Cake too!

Red Velvet for Red Nose Day

We got our baking hats on at Challoner House, baking Red Velvet cupcakes, in honour of Red Nose Day.  The cupcakes tasted just as good as they looked.

St Patrick’s Day

We enjoyed some Irish treats in celebration of St Patrick’s Day at Challoner House. We got into the holiday spirit with all things green and a drink of Guinness!

PAT Dog

Everyone at Challoner House would like to introduce you to our beautiful new PAT Dog, Cassie! She has enjoyed saying hello to all our residents and brought lots of smiles to the home.

Valentine’s Day

We felt love at Challoner House as we celebrated Valentine’s Day in style! We got creative once again to make beautiful heart shaped trinket boxes that we were able to decorate and give to our loved ones.

Chinese New Year

The Year of the Tiger! At Challoner, we honoured the Chinese New Year by getting creative and making our very own Chinese lanterns and themed wooden dragon boats, decorated with lots of colour.
