Activities at Challoner House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Challoner’s Pantomime

We were thrilled to have a Pantomime back at Challoner. This year’s panto was Cinderella, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed!

Making Morning

Residents at Challoner House enjoyed making a variety of different flavoured cupcakes! We baked them fresh in the morning, so that we could enjoy them in the afternoon with a nice cup of tea.

Tea Party

Residents at Challoner House were treated to a lovely tea party with freshly made cakes and scones, finished with jam and cream. They enjoyed making their own scones and enjoyed company of others.

,

Poppy Wreath Making

Residents had a fun afternoon making poppy wreaths in honour of remembrance & armistice. It was messy at times, but the residents enjoyed getting creative.

Challoner Goes Classical

We welcomed a new entertainer into Challoner this month; Jackie Drew came and entertained us with her violin. She played many different genres of music, which the residents enjoyed.

Welcome Back!

We were very happy to welcome back the church into Challoner; we have missed our monthly services and were able to have our first proper service for a while. It was a harvest special, so it made their first indoor visit even more special.
