Activities at Brook House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Students visit from local school

We were pleased to host students from Preston manor School who come to read beautiful stories to our residents once a week.

Our residents were delighted with the stories they read, but the children also surprised us because they sang the happy birthday song for one of our residents who celebrated her birthday that day.

They remembered her and planned this surprise for her that day.

Eyes Down, Look In! It's Bingo!

Bingo is not just a fun game for our residents from Brook House it also has many health benefits. It takes concentration to play which improves listening and short-term memory skills. The game promotes socialization that is essential for our residents to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle. Being social can reduce stress, depression and anxiety while increasing a person’s physical health. The residents who participate in regular social activities tend to the game is an affordable way to promote mental, emotional and physical health. The residents always enjoy the game, and the winner gets some presents.
