Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Jo & Julie

Activities Coordinators

Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

The weekly ‘Cake Challenge’ continues – and this week it’s Pudsey!

Residents have also undertaken the ‘Rickshaw Challenge’, with the aim being to get to John O’Groats!

The exercise bikes have been in the reception area of the home all week and residents, staff and visitors have risen to the challenge; we are well on our way to hitting the target of pedalling 500 miles!

It has been a great motivator and lots of laughs have been had by all involved along the way – a great team effort!
