Activities at Woodhorn Park Care Home

Activities make up the most important part of all our days at Woodhorn park, so we ensure a variety of social events are available that reflect the interests of all the people we support. In our Memory Lane community, we have group conversations and regularly reminiscence about past experiences, which is something that people living with dementia really enjoy. Many residents love gardening, baking, outings, pet care and gentle exercise, which we provide, along with many other wholesome activities, as it is essential that life at Woodhorn Park is fun and active.

Life at Woodhorn Park Care Home

Wallace Collection

Our homes had a fantastic time joining members of the Wallace Collection for an amazing sensory session.

During the live virtual experience, our residents explored one of the museum’s most beautiful Dutch flower paintings and learnt new drawing techniques.

We cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and produce beautiful paintings of our own.

Everyone enjoyed the lovely talk, we all had lots of fun and it’s given us plenty of ideas.

Wonder of families and friends

We have had family, friends come along to join in with us for a wonderful afternoon of singing and dancing. Old and young came together to have a summery filled afternoon.

Arts and Crafts!

Residents came together to enjoy craft session to brighten up a rainy day. We used colourful feathers and sequences to make beautiful Parrots.

Musical mystery tour

Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.

Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.

The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.

Birds of Prey

Our residents and staff loved the chance to interact with the owls, so to have a day dedicated to them really is special for everyone. We’ve had a great afternoon.

Women's Football

Staff and residents came together to watch England Lionesses ROAR! We gave full support to watch the amazing scenes at Wembley where England ladies made history by beating Germany in the Euro’s 2022. First time England won the trophy and first time in 56 years that an English team beat a Germany Team.
