Activities at Werrington Lodge Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Paint by Numbers

We all had a great time today, we did some therapeutic painting and colouring by numbers, this was great for dexterity and concentration!

Mobile Pub

Wow is the only expression that can be used for the afternoon we had today! We had a right good shindig with plenty of singing and dancing, it was lovely to see such happiness and love fill the home! We had Simon Lee an amazing singer who performed songs from a wide range of eras and genres, his interaction with everyone was brilliant and his voice was incredible too! We also had the honour of welcoming Falcon Bars who provided refreshments from their epic mobile pub which was just the icing on the cake! We thank both Simon Lee and Falcon Bars for joining us and making this afternoon so enjoyable.

PAT Dogs

A very successful visit from our resident PAT dog Blossom; a beautiful greyhound. It’s amazing how much happiness animals can bring to the home and how uplifting they can be.

The Blue Bell!

Wow! What an amazing first trial for our weekly pub lunch outings at The Blue Bell! Residents absolutely loved heading out to the pub for a delicious 3 course meal, the sun was shining, food was 5* and the service was brilliant! A huge thank you to John and his team at The Blue Bell for making this a possibility.

American Independence Day

We enjoyed celebrating American Independence Day with some classic American treats and having a sing and dance along to Nick Glover who came to perform some old American favourites.

Paint by Numbers

Residents really enjoyed taking part in some relaxing Paint by Numbers today. They found this activity very therapeutic as they had everything they needed already and were able to paint at their leisure, they were able to get their teeth stuck in and create some lovely pictures.
