Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home
Mexican Day
We spent another unforgettable day with our residents, who greatly enjoyed the Mexican atmosphere. Bethan brought us the Mexican vibe and entertained our residents with Spanish-style music. And we enjoyed the candies 'knocked out' from the piñata! The closing was truly heart warming when we all sang the classic “You Are My Sunshine” together.
Oktoberfest
What a fantastic Oktoberfest celebration at Orchard House Care Home!
Our beloved residents had a blast as we raised our mugs and sampled a variety of lagers. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, making it a day to remember.
A special shout out to Laura and Gary for their incredible performances, which added a musical touch to the festivities!
Jigsaw Puzzle Festival
We had a fantastic time at the Jigsaw Puzzle Festival hosted at St. James Church in East Cowes! Our residents had a blast, putting their puzzle-solving skills to the test. A huge shout-out to the incredible St. James Church volunteers whose help made this event even more special. We’re truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity!
National Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day
We celebrated National Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day with our dear residents. We organized a fun cupcake quiz and enjoyed delicious coffee and tea together.
Military Museum
It was a fantastic outing when the sun was shining. Orchard House residents had a great time at the Churchill cafe in the Military Museum. Our residents truly enjoyed this trip out!
Boat trip
We had an exceptional day thanks to the Wetwheels Solent C I C! Our residents had the unique opportunity to take the helm of the boat themselves, creating a lasting and incredible memory! Our heartfelt thanks go to the extraordinary boat captain, Dan, and the outstanding crew members, David and Pete, who made this experience truly unforgettable for our residents. These moments are priceless and fill our hearts with joy. We extend our sincere appreciation to the WetWheels Solent for making this remarkable experience possible!
