Activities at Orchard House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Remembrance Day 2023: A Touching Tribute by Our Residents

A heartfelt gesture of solidarity, the residents of Orchard House Care Home recently dedicated their time and skills to knit poppies in support of the Royal British Legion. This initiative aimed to honour the Armed Forces, their families, and all those affected by conflict or terrorism. Following a poignant remembrance ceremony, our residents extended their tribute by planting poppy seeds, symbolizing their respect for the valiant heroes who have made sacrifices for the greater good. The act reflects a collective commitment to remembering and honouring the profound impact of war and conflict on individuals and communities. Among the residents, Stuart shared a touching sentiment encapsulated in the words, "Hold my hand and with me wander through the poppies across the land. My heart for you could not be fonder while I slip upon your finger one golden everlasting band." Stuart's expression captures the depth of emotion and unity that Remembrance Day embodies. Orchard House Care home is proud to be a part of a community that actively engages in meaningful gestures of remembrance. This event not only serves as a tribute to the heroes of the past but also as a symbol of hope for a peaceful future.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

We were thrilled to announce the success of our fundraising efforts at the Macmillan Coffee Morning. The spirit of teamwork was truly exceptional, with our dedicated colleagues coming together to create delectable treats such as chocolate cake, scones, and brownies.

This event was made even more special as our cherished residents and dedicated colleagues welcomed all the visitors who joined us that morning. Together, we rallied for a noble cause, raising valuable funds.

We extended our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this endeavour. Your support was instrumental in making a difference in the lives of those we aimed to assist.
