Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

We both joined Marnel a while ago and we are very excited to be part of such a proactive and dedicated team. There are lots of ideas and innovations, all to enhance quality of life of our residents. Every day is different and to understand the needs of our residents, building relationship with them and keeping in touch with their families and friends, is the most important and rewarding job we could have wish for.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Ship of Dreams
We all worked hard to recreate very famous ship: the Titanic. Joyce, our Resident & Well-being Assistant, supported the process of creation, from base to the end of the ship. It was a great fun!
Let's Hit the Road
After such a long wait, our residents and team went out for drive to enjoy spring in full. We stopped at Costa for fresh coffee and doughnuts. Time was flying and none of us realised we were out for hours.
Easter Celebration
Easter has brought great peace and happiness at Marnel. Resident, relatives and the team celebrated together in the most safe way. An egg hunt was fun too and we have used technology to project eggs to enhance Easter experiences. In return, we have enjoyed real chocolate.
Vaccine Day: Part 2
Our residents and team received the second dose of the vaccine. We are very thankful to our Local Chineham GP Practice for making this happen.
St Patrick's Day
Residents and the team enjoyed our St. Patrick’s Day celebration with plenty of fun, engagement, dancing and food. Some of our gentlemen said yes to a pint of Guinness and glass of Irish whiskey. What a great day!
Pamper Day
In such a difficult time, there is nothing better than having a pamper day. Residents were delighted and so pleased with all the attention. It was such a great day with ambient music and laughter. More to come.
