Activities at The Manor Care Home

Our activities staff are here 7 days a week and are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we care for in a group or individual basis. From trips to garden centres, the theatre, and flower shows to personal shopping and attending family events. We also love organising Christmas fairs, our famous classic car show, musicians, entertainment, and pizza and pint evenings. The team encourage families to visit and work closely with our volunteers to ensure that our residents social care is a priority, so that they have a fun filled and enriched stay whilst here at The Manor.

Marc Chidgey

Life Enrichment Lead

I have worked at The Manor since 2012, starting out as a kitchen assistant, where I replenished drinks and snacks and assisted in serving meals in communal areas. During this time, outside of the kitchen, I enjoyed meeting residents and took pleasure in seeing their engagement during activities. My interest in resident activities was evident, and I was offered the opportunity to transfer to the activities team.

I love to spend time with residents. I enjoy hearing their stories and finding out what activities interest them. I aim to keep them as active as possible, and my top priority is to instill fun and laughter at The Manor.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

We had a great MacMillan coffee morning and we are pleased to say we raised over £100 for the wonderful charity. Thank you to all who supported us.

Harvest Festival

We made a fantastic harvest display for our service held by the lovely minister Deborah Kirk. We also collected food for our local Taunton Foodbank of which they were very thankful for. Harvest is a wonderful time of year and brings everyone together to help those around our local area.

Birds of Prey

We had the most amazing afternoon with a visit from Sharandys Birds of Prey. We loved seeing familiar faces and new ones and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Fun in the Sun

We've been making the most of the sunshine and have been enjoying some garden games. Taking in the fresh air, feeling the sun rays and keeping active and rising fine hand control with some ball games.
