Activities at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

National Scrabble Day

Residents and staff at Hugh Myddelton House marked National Scrabble Day hosting a day-long tournament to decide their ultimate Scrabble Star. Everyone enjoyed a game of Scrabble and some of our residents came up with new and improved ways to increase their letter and word scores. They have the most amazing vocabularies!

Easter Egg Hunt

Residents were joined by the children and staff from Anna's nursey for an Easter egg hunt in our garden. The children sang for us then went on the hunt for Easter eggs packed and hidden by the residents.

Winifred, resident at Hugh Myddelton House said, "hearing the children singing was absolutely lovely, it made me remember my younger days and so many happy thoughts."

Jean, resident said, "What a lovely day. The children are so positive and sure of themselves. Seeing them enjoy themselves really makes me happy, I loved spending time with the children."

From The Beatles to Bob Marley.

Today residents, their loved ones and staff at Hugh Myddelton House enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment with Ian James.

Ian sang a medley of our favorite songs, including songs from The Beatles, Bob Marley, Elvis and Abba. We enjoyed singing and dancing along and look forward to Ian coming back to entertain us again soon.
