Activities at Florence Court Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jessica Duery
I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an Activities capacity so became an activities provider then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court . I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents life's through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.

Life at Florence Court Care Home
Meet Our Resident Ambassador, Eddie!
We are delighted to introduce you to our Resident Ambassador, Eddie, here at Florence Court.
Eddie is a valued member of our community, and we are thrilled to have him represent our residents.
He is always keen to get stuck in helping both staff and residents, whether that be in the garden, with activities or any other department, or spending time with residents who benefit from that familiar interaction. Eddie is even organising and directing a pantomime for later in the year.
As Resident Ambassador, Eddie serves as a voice for fellow residents, communicating their wishes, suggestions, and feedback to our staff members.
Making such a positive impact in our care home!
Charity Bake Sale
We're thrilled to share our bake sale to raise money for the Barchester's Charitable Foundation was a huge success.
Our incredible community came together to bake, buy, and enjoy some delicious treats, all for a wonderful cause.
We're proud to announce that we raised £150! This is a fantastic amount that will go a long way in supporting the foundation's important work. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, whether by baking, buying, or simply spreading the word. And a massive thank you to Amanda Parsons - Songbird Entertainments for entertaining us all while we enjoyed the delicious cakes.
Cocktails and Quiz
Cocktails and quiz.
Today we enjoyed our bank holiday in style with one of our favourite activities. Residents enjoyed a refreshing glass of Pimms in our Sky terrace whilst testing their general knowledge skills during our group quiz. Everyone enjoyed having a laugh and a joke together; it was a lovely afternoon.
Painting in the Sunshine
Painting in the sunshine!
This afternoon we made the most of the beautiful weather and took our art easels onto the balcony to enjoy some nice relaxing painting in the fresh air. Residents requested to listen to classic music whilst they painted and found the whole experience thoroughly relaxing. They created some beautiful pieces of art work which we can’t wait to finish next time
1940's Party
1940's Day!
Today we had a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine enjoying a 40's themed street tea party. Staff all dressed in 1940's outfits and everyone enjoyed a wonderful performance from The Land Girls
We then tucked in to some delicious cakes made by our lovely kitchen team and discussed memories of past decades. It was a fabulous day in the sunshine, enjoyed by all.
Grandparent's Day at Wets Hill Park School
Yesterday we had the honour of being invited to West Hill Park School Grandparents tea. Our residents were over the moon to be able to join them and Mona was especially proud to have got a mention from Lilly in their ‘why I love my grandparents’ video. Mona and Lilly have formed a great bond through the monthly visits we do with the school over the past year, each thoroughly looking forward to their visits! Proving just how great these inter-generational activities are. The children even gave us all little sunflower sprouts they had planted to take back and grow at Florence court. It was a very wholesome afternoon enjoyed by all.
