Activities at Epsom Beaumont Care Home

At Epsom Beaumont, the daily activities always aim to be enjoyable for all. Our Activities Coordinator is constantly working to mentally and physically stimulate each resident and ensuring that our programme is define moulded to the wants and needs of those we support. We host weekly outings to many local coffee shops, and also some bigger trips to Brighton and the Brooklands Museum. Our outings tend to be a new and exciting experience for residents, but are sometimes repeated for those who could not make the trip the first time. The activity schedule changes weekly, but there are some regularities, such as our crossword and bar nights, where families are invited to join their loved ones for a social evening. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home and we are proud to say we have a dedicated Activities Coordinator who is supported by all of the care team to really make it successful. We have received excellent feedback from residents and relatives, which only makes our bond with them stronger.

Louisa Capaldi

Activities Coordinator

I always said when I started working I wanted to have a rewarding job that puts a smile on people’s faces and makes their day just that little bit brighter! I started working in the care sector as a hospitality Assistant, and then became a carer and then the activities coordinator. I really enjoy getting the residents up and moving, and getting active. I enjoy learning new things about the residents and doing meaningful activities with them that they enjoy and benefit from.

Life at Epsom Beaumont Care Home

Professionals Breakfast

Professionals from various organisations within the community had a chance to meet and network over breakfast provided by the home. Epsom Beaumont Care Home is keen to be part of the community and our Professional breakfast allows individuals to meet and connect with one another. It’s a great chance to share experiences, make new contacts within the community, and of course, enjoy our wonderful spread provided by our hospitality team!’

Bonfire Night Celebrations

Our residents, relatives and community enjoyed our bonfire night celebrations. Everyone enjoyed watching our firework display, while they enjoyed toasted marshmallows, mulled wine and hot dogs. Everyone had a fantastic time, our residents love to keep these traditions and reminisce about years gone by.

Diwali Celebrations

Diwali is known as the 'festival of lights'.  Houses, shops and public places are decorated with small oil lamps called 'diyas’. Staff at Epsom Beaumont have been busy preparing for the Diwali celebrations by decorating some areas of the home with lights, fresh sweet smelling flowers, colourful scarves and fabrics. Staff, residents and friends celebrated Diwali with fireworks, traditional Indian snacks and dancing.

Students from Epsom College write letters to residents

The students from Epsom College wrote and delivered some lovely letters and puzzles for our residents. We have all been enjoying reading their letters about what their plans are for the half term and what they are enjoying most about school. We are looking forward to writing back to them!

Minibus Trip to Bocketts Farm

We enjoyed a lovely minibus trip to Bocketts Farm Park. We enjoyed seeing the lambs, piglets and chicks and we even got to have a cuddle with the rabbits and Guinea pigs! We especially enjoyed watching the pig race, followed by a cup of tea and a slice of chocolate fudge cake at the old barn tearoom.

Art Class with Marion

We enjoyed a painting class from Marion, daughter of resident at Epsom Beaumont. Marion is a painter and hosted a painting class for Residents and staff. Everyone enjoyed getting creative and developing some new painting skills. We are looking forward to our next painting class.
