Activities at Chestnut Gardens Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Mens Health!

This week was both Men's Health Week with National Beer Day on Thursday! Our dear resident, Guss agreed that a cool bottle of beer made him feel on top of the world! Cheers! What's your favourite tipple?

Employee of the Month June

Residents and staff at Chestnuts Gardens care home in Purley applauded as William Guantero was named ‘Employee of the Month’ for going above and beyond in his role and providing excellent care to our residents.

William was congratulated by the home’s General Manager Gayane Selimyan for the achievement and was presented with a £25 voucher and a bottle of wine as a special thank you.

Author Visit

Chestnut Gardens extend a huge thank you to author, Susan Elkin for her humorous and informative insight into her fabulous book, The Alzheimer's Diaries. Call us now to find out how we help people live well with dementia!

King Charles' Butlers!

Chestnut Gardens offer excellent care and services in quality surroundings. We are delighted to be associated with great people who come to spend time enhancing the lives of our residents. We couldn't believe who popped by to help serve at our big Charity event: only Simon and Peter, butlers to our dear king at Buckingham Palace!!! Fantastic and so much fun!

Tour De Barchester

Our charity week concluded in a celebratory party! " Tour De Barchester" cyclists ended a mammoth marathon ride at Chestnut Gardens and raised a huge amount of money (we're still counting!) for our Barchester Charitable Foundation! To say we're proud of our colleagues is an understatement! Please see below to find out how to support the cause.

Ronnie Scotts

"Your wish is our command!" Our dear resident, June loves Jazz and had always wanted to enjoy an evening at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and so for her recent significant birthday, enjoy an evening at Ronnie Scotts she did!

Our colleagues, Madison, Head of activities and Andrew, Head of Maintenance accompanied June last week and a jolly good time was had by all!
