Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Maria Durrant

Activities Coordinator

Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

St David’s Day

March the 1st saw residents,  family members join together for a St David’s Day themed coffee morning, this event was especially aimed at one particular resident as she is Welsh, and  her heritage is important to her.

Anita, her family members and other resident’s joined together in the Welsh themed lounge where the Welsh flags were flying and daffodils adorned the tables.
