Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Challoner House Care Home
Entertainment at Chelloner House
Challoner House Residents are always happy to have our regular entertainers come into the home, this month we have enjoyed the lovely vocals from Amanda Parsons, Amanda takes us right back through the decades through music.
Birthday Celebrations!
At Challoner House we always like to make our residents feel at home, Especially on their birthday. Every resident receives a Birthday Cake, Gift, Balloons and a banner. The Birthday cake is always presented by our General Manager and at lunch time so everyone can sing birthday wishes.
Indian Dance Performance
This morning our residents were treated to a special performance from our Indian Dancer and also some Indian singing too. The residents were really happy to learn all about the different items on her dress and what they meant. She also spoke about the Indian culture and explained the dances she performed. The residents have said they can’t wait to see her again.
Ukulele Concert
The residents at Challoner house were delighted to be entertained by our local ukulele band, The band were all very festive dressed up as Elf’s and playing a mixture of timely classics and Christmas songs.
Christmas Pantomime
The residents, relatives and staff were happy to be able to come together this Christmas and be entertained by Eva Long Productions and their wonderful Pantomime Jack in the beanstalk, We all had great fun and laughed and sang along with the show.
Halloween Celebrations
This year at Challoner House, the residents asked to have a Party that was not spooky, but with a few decorations. To achieve this, we made some delicious Halloween cakes and had a tea party with Halloween background music, it was more treats than tricks and everyone had a wonderful time.
