Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Started the day with our Mobility class which set them for an appetite for lunch. The afternoon was the ever amazing Steve Carmel, who packed out the lounge. Standing room only and what fun we had too. Singing Sweet Caroline, guessing the artist to songs to waving arms and clapping along. What a wonderful afternoon..you can see how much our residents enjoy him from the looks and smiles on their faces.

WW2 Veteran meets the King

Resident, Ray Harke, at The Warren was delighted to be invited by the RAF for tea with the King to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Dambusters Raid. His Majesty met 18 Second World War pilots and air crew after looking round the hanger at Coningsby in Lincolnshire. The King said “Thank God for all these men – people like you who looked after us.”

Ray was absolutely delighted to be a part of the occasion and enjoyed sitting next to his Majesty and sharing memories. Ray said “His Majesty was thoroughly charming and a delight to chat with.”
