Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Trip to our local Cattery

We had the best outing today.  Huge thanks to Claire at Palm View Cattery in Sprowston for letting us meet your gorgeous cuddly visitors.  These pussy cats were just beautiful and we all wanted to take one home.  To see the joy on our residents faces just having a cat sit on their lap for a cuddle was just so fantastic. These lovely pictures speak volumes about how much they enjoyed the visit.  For our Cat Mad residents, this was just absolutely wonderful.

Pottery Art Class

Such a wonderful day, the residents did something they had never done before, pottery.  We made everything with Air Dry clay and their artistic side was well and truly alive. I personally love Brenda’s “Key to my Heart” and once painted and varnished will be a wonderful keepsake for her. Well done ladies and gents you did very well.

The “Warrenwealth” games

Today we held the 1st Warrenwealth games.  We played Boules, Football and table tennis.  We laughed a lot, dropped the ball a lot but had a fantastic time doing it.  Well done to Evelyn for being the overall winner of the 1st Warrenwealth games.

Trip to Sandringham to pay our respects to the Queen

We took the morning travelling to Sandringham to pay respects to our Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

It was a beautiful day, and the weather was just perfect.  We bought some flowers to take and a picnic and it was just wonderful.

The residents were staggered by the sheer amount of flowers, gifts, toys and balloons that had been left.  The residents thoroughly enjoyed their day and felt honoured to be able to mark her passing in this way.

International Beer day

Well what can I say, yet another lovely day out with our residents for International Beer Day. We choose a river side pub so we could have some lunch and of course a beer. After a lovely lunch we made a visit for dessert to the ice cream man, 99s all round with strawberry sauce. I had blue sherbet on mine which made me feel like a kid again! Such a wonderful day all the residents came back happy, full and slightly more tanned.

Fruit picking in our Garden

Another warm and busy day here at Team Warren. We have fruit trees growing in our very own garden, so we took our containers and went fruit picking at 9.30am before it got too warm..we say before it got too warm it was already 26 degrees so we made it quick. This afternoon we sorted the Tombola prizes and numbered them. The ladies loved this, all finished off with Ice Creams brought round by the chef, and for some residents, Ice Creams under the hair dryer.
