Activities at Oxford Beaumont Care Community

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events that cater to all tastes, which includes minibus outings to nearby places of interest and visits from animal trusts, local school choirs, musicians and entertainers. We also undertake one-to-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group sessions, and encourage loved ones to join in whenever they can.

Life at Oxford Beaumont Care Community

Chirpy Chicks

We have been on an incredible 10 day journey hatching chicks and watching them grow and develop their own unique, chirpy personalities. The chicks have brought so much life and joy into the home and has enhanced moods and conversations between residents, staff and visitors. It has been an amazing experience and abled residents to have first-hand contact with animals and promoted a duty of care and responsibility.

National Museum Day

For national museum day residents and staff took a mini bus outing to the Ashmolean museum in Oxford. It was a fantastic day exploring all the different artefacts and paintings. The residents reminisced about previous trips they had made to the museum with their own females and children over tea and cake in the cafe!

Millets Farm

Residents, staff and families enjoyed a fun mini bus trip out to Millets Farm. We spent the morning meeting some animals, browsing the farm shop and chatting over tea and cake. It was great opportunity for families to spend time with their loved ones and to get to know the staff a bit better. Some of the residents expressed how much they enjoyed the trip and they used to visit the farm frequently and it was great to back and see all the changes and share new experiences.

Easter Flowers

Over the Easter period we were fortunate enough to be joined by Abingdon Flower club who led a group interactive flower arranging session for the residents. The residents were then able to create their own floral arrangements to display around the home during the Easter celebrations. We used spring flowers such as daffodils and other garden greenery which led to group discussions about the residents own gardens and their favourite flowers. To finish off the arrangements we added mini chocolate eggs for final decorations – perfect treat for Easter morning too!

St. Patrick's Day

Here at Oxford Beaumont residents and staff embraced the Irish celebration by dressing up and discussing the history of St.Patrick. We made mini Guinness cupcakes, listened to traditional Irish music and even did some Guinness tasting!

Tipple Tuesday

We took a trip out to our local pub for an afternoon of chatting, reminiscing and enjoying a well-deserved refreshing drink! It was a lovely trip out and a great opportunity for relatives to join one of our activities.
