"Lawton Rise Care Home Goldenhill Stoke-on-Trent is one of the best care homes I have been in. Excellent staff, so kind and will do anything for you. I feel very content that my mum is in this home. She is very well looked after. Very hardworking and loving staff."

"Barchester Lawton Rise Care Home has given my father the best care imaginable since April 2023. They've made my dad feel home from home and have easily catered for his complex dementia needs. His medication has been regulated successfully and the services offered such as artwork, Christmas cards and guest singers are exemplary. Moreover, the 3-course meals given every day are 4-star standard."

"Our mum has been a resident at Lawton Rise for a number of years. There is a variety of good food for residents, but sadly our mum’s dementia has got a lot worse and now she does not eat much. Bedroom is bright, airy and warm. Staff offer good interaction with Mum, as she is very active, even at 89. Lawton Rise usually respond to any concerns that I have, regardless of how minor they are. My mum has always been clean and well cared for. The home lets me know what is happening and keeps me up to date with any incidents or changes to her care, they are always friendly and welcoming."

"My partner has been a resident at Lawton Rise for twenty months now. He always appears settled and trusting of the staff. I personally always feel welcomed and it's good to have a friendly chat with the staff and other residents. The meals always look appetizing. The residents' clothes are well cared for. I would recommend Lawton Rise to others."

"My husband was admitted to Lawton Rise in April 2022 from hospital. I am extremely happy with his care. I live a 30-minute bus journey away and could move him closer to home, but I wouldn't as I am happy for him to stay where is happy and settled."

"Lawton Rise Care Home certainly ticks all of the right boxes. The staff are very welcoming and the carers are fantastic in their approach to the different individual needs of the residents. The meals are freshly cooked and varied. There's always a cake with candles for that special occasion. The decor is fresh and kept spotless by the domestics. The entertainment always goes down well, with the residents singing and clapping along. Well done to all and thank you."

"A very good afternoon. My wife has been a resident of Lawton Rise for over five years. I find the home to be very well run, and from the management down, very helpful and most obliging. If I have any problems, they are great at sorting out any problems, not that I can remember any such occasions arising for a long time. I would like to praise four members firstly, the manager, secondly the assistant manager, thirdly and last but not least is the administration lady, but I must say all the staff are without a doubt first class."

"My mum was in Lawton Rise for 4 years she passed away in November 2022. The care she had while in there was exceptional the staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. They treat their residents as if they were their own family. They always put a smile on Mum's face, we knew she was well taken care of, you worry about them but we knew she was fine. There was always something going on to entertain them, music afternoons singers would come in. The staff always kept me well informed on how she was. The staff are absolutely brilliant, one member of staff was mum's main carer, you start off as strangers and end up being part of one big family can not praise them enough."

"My mother has been a resident at Lawton Rise for almost four years now. I had little choice in selecting the right place for Mum to live, but fortunately, Lawton Rise assessed her and offered her a place. I'm so pleased they did as it's clearly the right place for her. Staff are caring, friendly and communicate well. My mother is happy (and often tells me so), and will comment about a member of staff as they pass, 'She's lovely'. It's never too much trouble for them to get her a drink or a snack. She loves her room, and often comments on the furniture being to her taste! The staff know her well and are like family to her now. I have peace of mind knowing that such able and sympathetic people take care of her. The management and all the staff are approachable and any issues are soon dealt with. In the past, I've recommended Lawton Rise to friends seeking dementia care for their loved ones and will continue to do so."

"We were welcomed immediately by a fabulous member of staff. She took us to see our aunt. Then, she found a beautiful empty sitting room where we could chat. She even brought tea, coffee and biscuits, which was so lovely. Our aunt is very happy! The facility is beautiful, clean and immaculate. Congratulations."

"Excellent care home, Mum is always clean and well-dressed. She has been in the care home for the past 3 months and has put on a little weight with good food. All staff are very welcoming and friendly. Relatives are able to use the light and airy lounge when visiting. Refreshments are offered on arrival. The establishment is well-maintained and extremely clean. Regular updates on her well-being are much appreciated by her family. Thank you to all staff."

"I have visited my grandad at the care home, several times and not consistently at the same time. The home was always very clean and tidy and the staff was very welcoming. It gives you such ease to enter a strange place but feel so welcome. My grandad's room looked amazing with all his pictures in place and so homely. I would recommend Lawton Rise to anyone."

"All the staff at Lawton Rise Care Home are unfailingly welcoming, smiling and cheerful. If a problem does arise it is immediately listened to and addressed at the time, if possible, or referred to the appropriate person. The earlier general refurbishment has made all the difference to the more homely feel and standard of surroundings. We look forward to the continuation of the plan. There are times when unfamiliar staff assigned to the unit is unsettling for the residents."

"My mum came here on an assessment bed from a hospital 20 miles away due to her worsening dementia and increase in hospital admissions due to falls. I was so worried that she wasn't on the doorstep but soon realised after conversations with the home manager, who put me at ease and showed great empathy for my situation, that she would, at last, be safe for a while. My darling mum has now been in the home for 6 weeks and is a different person. I will be forever grateful to the whole team at Lawton Rise for their dedicated and compassionate work helping my mum and the other lovely people living their lives with dementia. An incredible place which I couldn't have wished harder to exist! Thank you from the bottom of mine, my families but most importantly, my mum's heart."

"We have been delighted with how well dad has been cared for by all the staff at Lawton Rise. The change in him is remarkable; he is happy and smiling. The staff have been kind and caring and very responsive to dad's needs. They make him smile and have a joke with him which is lovely to see. Dad struggles to communicate with his dementia and the staff take time to help him. The home is bright, clean and has a lovely vibe. The residents are encouraged to join in a range of activities and there are loads of different things happening every week. I can wholeheartedly say this care home is exceptional."

"Lawton Rise is a fabulous care home the staff go beyond what is expected of them. My mum has been in now for 18 months she has dementia she is well cared for happy safe. She has a lovely room with wet room and toilet. Over the past awful 9 months with COVID, it has been extremely difficult for all of us. The staff have kept us well informed with video calls phone calls to let us know Mum is ok. Mum found it really hard not understanding why I can not go in and see her normal with kiss and cuddle. The staff have made an extremely difficult situation bearable nothing too much trouble for any of them doing afternoon teas entertainment they had a lovely Christmas. We now have a pod for visits which make it a lot better Mum is more content now when I visit. I would definitely recommend Lawton Rise as a very well run home homely well-trained staff excellent variety of menus food fresh well cooked."

"My grandfather has been a resident at Lawton Rise for a number of years. During my time visiting him, I have seen four changes in management and I must say that the current management team is the most approachable and most willing to listen to any concerns. They will usually respond to any concerns that I have, regardless of how minor they are. My grandfather has always been clean, well cared for and always appears happy. He has told me he likes the food and will eat every bite of his meals. The home let me know what is happening and keep me up to date with any incidents or changes to his care. I cant praise the staff enough - they are always friendly and welcoming. I enjoy talking with the staff nearly as much as talking to my grandfather."

"As the grandson of one of the residents in this home, I would like to say I have found not one fault with this home, the management or the care teams. During such a difficult time for all of us, this care home has kept my family and myself in the know with everything regarding my Grandad. We have been happy knowing he is safe, well and looked after. The last few months have not been easy for ourselves, for the staff or the residents and we had no doubt they were doing everything in their power to keep everyone’s loved ones safe. It gave us great peace of mind knowing he was in the right place. Thank you Lawton Rise."

"My Uncle has been a resident here for nearly one year now. The Lawton Rise team are angels! They always go above and beyond to keep all the residents safe and happy. The management is approachable, kind, and always has time to answer questions. Their attitude is reflected in the rest of the team's approach. Even though such tough times, they have been kind and calm and put a smile on my face whenever I have called. Thank you!"

"My father has been a resident at Lawton Rise Vare Home for the past two years and I have to say, he's very happy there. The decor in some areas of the home does need updating and I believe that this will be happening in the near future, however, it is very clean. The management work very well together and are very approachable, any concerns are dealt with as soon as possible. The entertainments programme is very good, there is a good mixture of activities, entertainers and events and everyone is encouraged to join in. The standard of care is very good, the staff seem very happy in their work and are very friendly, caring and helpful, not only with the residents but with relatives alike. I feel that the people I have met at Lawton Rise have become part of my extended family and I would definitely recommend it."

"Since my wife arrived at Lawton Rise she has been very well looked after. The standard of care has been excellent and the staff have been outstanding in their care for my wife and us as a family. The room has been of a high standard for cleanliness. My wife has been well fed and drinks have been freely available to us all. My wife has received a high standard of medical care with prompt visits to the doctors and hospital. The gardens were a great help in the hot summer days being safe and secure. In conclusion, Lawton Rise as a home is outstanding."

"I would not hesitate in recommending Lawton Rise Nursing Home for anyone suffering from dementia. My uncle had dementia but was otherwise quite healthy. There was always a lot of staff and nurses available and his every need was taken care of, nothing being too much trouble. There was always daily entertainment and activities provided which the staff encourage all the residents to attend. I would like to thank everyone concerned for their help whilst my uncle resided at Lawton Rise, they all do a great job!"

"I am very impressed with the care my husband is receiving, the staff are very approachable and so kind. There is entertainment every afternoon. The staff in charge of activities work so hard, making sure the residents have an enjoyable time. Also, the nurses are brilliant, they always phone if there are any problems. "I feel that all of the staff have got my father's interest at the front of their list at all times. They have always made me aware of any issues with his care at the earliest opportunity. The care taken to help in his day to day living is second to none if it's persuading him to eat or taking his medication. They take the time to treat him like a human being and not a number. In many respects, I feel they treat him like one of their own relatives."

"I was really beginning to despair that I had chosen the wrong home for my husband but after changes at the home in the last 2 weeks, I now know my husband is in the correct place for his needs. The difference at the home in the past 2 weeks is remarkable. It's now a very happy place for everyone, residents, relatives and most importantly, the staff. All my review markings refer to the home "now", not as it was 2 weeks ago."

"When we have visited mum is clean and well cared for. The staff have formed good relationships with her. She is non-verbal but the staff interpret mum's non-verbal communications well and she appears settled. The staff make great efforts to ensure mum's safety. They manager her diabetes well and they appear to have halted the recurrent U.T.I's she suffered previously."
