Activities at Hollyfields Care Home
Our Activities programme is formulated using resident requests and feedback from resident meetings. Residents are involved in planning the programme with things they they would like to do throughout the year. There is a mixture of activities that take place including both group and 1-1 engagement. Residents at Hollyfields particularly enjoy movement to music activities enabling them to increase their level of physical abilities and have fun at the same time, whilst others enjoy musical singalongs and food based activities throughout the week.
We have a mini bus that enables us to reconnect our residents with their community in ways that suite themselves as individuals. This can be achieved by visiting local farms, Georgian towns, local attractions and even the local public house for lunch with friends. Hollyfields have a great relationship with their local community and have visits from local organisations such as The Wyre Community Land Trust and are currently undertaking a 12 week funded project from Arts Etc. Residents at Hollyfields enjoy Pet Therapy visits from their pet rabbit 'Thumper' and like to help clean and feed him daily. Relatives can be encouraged to join us for activities and again are very supportive with delivering theme days and fundraising events within the home.
Kayleigh White
Kayleigh joined the Hollyfields care team in February 2021. She's a a very conscientious young lady, who is passionate about the wellbeing of all our residents.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hollyfields Care Home
Crafting with Residents
Our resident John really enjoyed painting and crafting poppies for remembrance day he picked up a paint brush which he hadn’t done in years he painted the middle part of the flower and crunched up tissue paper to design the poppy.
Sheila loved our knew crocheted fiddle blankets which we had kindly been donated by crafting for communities.
Pub Lunch
We've been making the most of our minibus to get out and about to local landmarks, shopping centres, garden centres and more over the last few weeks. Today some of our residents choose to head to the local pub for lunch.
Outings are an important part of our activities calendar which is designed with resident input and aims to create happy memories for everyone who lives at Hollyfields.
Dog Therapy
Animal therapy is one of the cornerstones of our life enrichment programme at Hollyfields and we love having new animals visit on a regular basis.
Whilst we have regular visits from PAT dogs, therapy donkeys and trainee guide dogs, it is always wonderful when our team bring in their own pets. This week we had a visit from an adorable chihuahua who belongs to one of our carers.
Chippy Takeaway
Sometimes you just want a chip shop dinner in front of the TV. This week our residents requested a traditional fish and chips takeaway for their Friday tea, so our team headed out to pick up a huge order from our local chippy.
Our residents were very pleased with their takeaways and are planning to order a chinese next week.
A trip to Sainsburys
We went on a shopping trip to Sainsbury’s to purchase some new shoes and trousers for Pam and Ted wanted a look at the books. Both had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed being out and about and are looking forward to the next trip out were there promises to be cake.
Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day 2023 was a lovely romantic day and residents and their loved ones came together for a special lunch prepared by our wonderful chef. There was soft music playing in the background and everyone had a lovely time.
