Activities at Forest Care Home

We have regular outings in our minibus to different places of interest including local country parks, the Tramway museum, Matlock and a number of Ice cream parlours. When we are not out on trips we are busy baking, making different craft projects, using the sensory equipment and Pet Therapy. We have entertainers who come in and get our residents up and moving.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Forest Care Home is fun and active. The activities at Forest Care Home are planned to be person centred and adapted to cater for everyone's abilities and all staff participate. For example one of our residents enjoys house work and everyday she assists the housekeepers to tidy around the unit.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Forest Care Home

Cheese & Wine

Our residents enjoyed a cheese and wine tasting afternoon. We had lots of different cheeses to tried and a few cheeky little glasses of wine. This went down a treat for all!

Postcard Creations

Residents regularly send postcards home to loved ones. Spirits are lifted dramatically when they write, informing them of their daily life.

A Kind Donation

Peter, the husband of a much loved resident who sadly passed away recently, has had a hand-made bench delivered and donated in her memory. Sonia, our General Manager, is pictured accepting this beautiful piece of garden furniture. Thank you, Peter!

Games Afternoon

Residents had lots of fun with games of Bingo and Scrabble. Prizes included chocolate, toiletries and goodies.

Halloween at Forest

Our residents enjoyed a Halloween Party. We had a nice buffet and even had a homemade cheesecake that was made by one of our carers. Our residents enjoyed listening to music.

Carecrows

Residents and staff have worked hard creating our ‘carecrow’ family in the preparation for Harvest Festival. We also made up a beautiful hamper that was raffled off and won by one of the night staff.
